Imo Needs a Technocrat not a Politician: Okey Ezeh is the Answer –Ivor
"In 100 days, we intend to put Imo back on the path of fiscal prudence, block horrendous leakages in our revenue generation platforms, whittle down bloated bureaucracy and humungous overheads and enthrone a transparent regime of biometric enrollment across the entire workforce in the state."
By Ivor Evans-Ibe
A leader should be a true representative of the people whom he governs. The chairman of a community of armed robbers should be a thief, likewise, the leader of a primordial and ignorant people, who is likely going to be an ignoramus full of primitivism. The leader of a community of warriors should be a fighter, and that of the academia must be an academic. People generally choose one of their own( or are chosen by one of their own) as their leader who represents what those who chose him/her stands for.
This begs the question of whether we have been choosing our best to govern us in Imo state. It is baffling to discover that a highly cultured and well educated society like Imo, keeps wallowing in the abysmal plains of bad leadership, occasioned by the election of half-baked, less exposed leaders who have nothing to offer. It is time for a paradigm shift as Imo is gradually slipping into the Bermuda triangle, it is time to try something new. A popular adage says that, only they unwise keep doing the same thing, with the expectation of different results each time.
Politicians are every where this electioneering season, trying to buy their ways into the Douglas house come 2019. Their reasons for contesting includes but not limited to adding more weight to their political resume, aggrandizement, cupidity and political witch-hunt. Most have no laid-out blueprint for the state, the just want to be addressed as governor. Some have held various political offices in the past with infinitesimal or no achievements. They expect Imolites who are adjudged to be the most literate people in Nigeria, to overlook their incompetence. They want Imo people to vote for the so called ‘big political parties’, not minding the ability of those they present. That won’t happen this time, amen.
OKEY EZEH is a seasoned and cultured technocrat, who graduated with first class honours at the age of twenty (20). Worked with a leading mult-national financial firm where he grew through the ranks to become the regional vice president for Africa.

He (Okey Ezeh) is one of the best hands in financial management in Africa as a whole, with quality educational backdrop. The holy book was truly right as always, when it said a prophet is not known in his father’s land. Try a technocrat this time, there’s no harm in trying.
Reading through his policy document, the Imo Marshall Plan (I-MAP), one will discover a man determined to rebirth Imo state, and set it on the pedestal of sustainable development, place it back inbthe league of working states with self-sufficiency, as we match into a restructured Nigeria. One will notice a sincere political will, to deliver Imo from over-reliance on the stipends from Abuja. A state for the young and old, rich and poor, Okorie na Okonkwo, Mgbeke na Mgbafor.
On fiscal responsibility, Sir Okey Ezeh said and I quote….
“In 100 days, we intend to put Imo back on the path of fiscal prudence, block horrendous leakages in our revenue generation platforms, whittle down bloated bureaucracy and humungous overheads and enthrone a transparent regime of biometric enrollment across the entire workforce in the state.
We shall immediately on assumption of office inaugurate a tenders board empowered by law to procure value for money for the tax payer in all matters of public expenditure”.
Unlike most other candidates whose only work experience is political ‘jobbing’, thuggery and sycophancy. Okey is Okay for the job.
