Imo hosts NUJ Zonal Meeting 29th November ||| NEWS CORNER
All is set for the hosting of the 2025 South East (Zone C) Zonal Executive Council, ZEC, meeting of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ in Owerri, the capital city of Imo State.
According to a release from the media department, Office of the Zonal Vice President, it is the turn of Imo to host the ZEC meeting, which rotates among the five states in the South East.
The ZEC Meeting which was earlier scheduled to hold last weekend, was postponed to hold on Saturday 29th November, 2025 in Owerri.
According to the South East Vice President of NUJ, Comrade Ezenwa Adiuku JP, the ZEC meeting is the highest decision making body for the Union at the zonal Level.
He further disclosed that ZEC members will be part of the inauguration ceremony of the reelected Chairman of Imo NUJ, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma JP on that same 29th November, 2025.
“The ZEC meeting is where issues concerning the Union at the zonal Level are looked into and decisions taken.
“All the five states in the South East Zone also submit their Reports during the ZEC meeting for deliberations.
“We hope to have a fruitful session and do our reports which will be submitted to the National Secretariat of the NUJ in Abuja”, Adiuku stated.
It will be recalled that the last ZEC meeting of the NUJ for South East was hosted by Anambra State Council in Akwa.
