Ahead of the November 11th Imo
Governorship polls, a non political and cultural union of Orlu people, the Orlu Zurumee Youths has endorsed the Governorship candidature of Chief Ben Odunzeh, the NNPP candidate.
This is even as they described him as the only candidate that possesses the capacity to bring to an end, the insecurity ravaging the zone and other parts of the state.
In a communique signed by the secretary general of the organization, Mr. Desmond Ugwumba and made available to the media, the group lamented what they described as lukewarm and lackluster attitude of the political leaders of the zone towards the insecurity bedeviling the zone pointing out that all the efforts made by the group to call them into action proved abortive.
The group which membership and branches is scattered across countries of the world described as alarming the level of unemployment in the area as part of their reasons for the endorsement of Odunzeh stressing that Odunzeh as a private man has employed a good number of Imo people in his various establishments and Orlu zone in particular hence the sky would be his starting point in job creation if elected the Governor because of his antecedents in the private sector.
“In the same vein, the high level of unemployment in Orlu zone is alarming and we honestly want political leaders and captains of Industries that would assist the youths to earn a living by providing and creating enabling environment for entrepreneurs among youths to thrive”, the communique reads in part.
Describing Odunzeh as the only candidate whose manifesto in line with the aspirations and expectations of Orlu Zurumee Youths, the group called on Imolites to look beyond selfish interest and vote a person with the capacity to lead Imo to that promised land in the forthcoming election.
The youth group also vowed to mobilize imo citizens towards the victory of the New Nigeria People’s Party Candidate, Hon Uche Ben Odunzeh in the poll opining that no stone will be left unturned.
