OrluZurumee Youth Assembly Elects New Executive …As Imo Journalist, Orioha Emerges Publicity Secretary
The apex youth organization in Orlu senatorial district of Imo state, OrluZurumee Youth Assembly (OYA), over the weekend, elected new leadership to coordinate its activities for the next four years.

Addressing news men, the Electoral Committee Chairman, Engr. Okolie Christian, from Orsu LGA, stressed that OYA’s mission is to protect the common interests of the people of Orlu Senatorial Zone at all times, hence the need to enthrone service and result-driven leaders to roundly secure the future of the youths.
Okolie noted that the exercise was peaceful as well as free and fair as credible persons emerged, stating that OYA had achieved laudable feat over the years hence cannot be allowed to be hijacked by greedy and transactional politicians.
The Electoral Committee Chairman however disclosed that the election was conducted after intensive screening of the contestants in conjunction with the Board of Trustees, sequel to the expiration of the tenure of the previous leadership.

Speaking earlier, the out-going President of OYA, Comr. Emejuru Theddius, an indigene of Ideato South, affirmed that the interest of the people of Orlu Zone is paramount, reflecting that OYA is going to fully support the New Executive to succeed while championing the Zone’s general cause, regretting that the issue of insecurity in the Zone has been troubling the residents of the area, with the authority caring less.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President of OYA, Prince Izunna Obiefule JP, who could not contain his joy, expressed gratitude to members of OYA for the opportunity to serve, while assuring them of optimal service delivery.
Prince Obiefule said he shall not only work with promising sons and daughters of Orlu to engage the youths and make the zone economically viable but also work closely with security agencies to return peace across the twelve (12) local government areas.

“This team will work in unism to make sure that the interest of Orluzurume Youth Assembly and zone is captured in the whole of South East.
“We will give Orluzurume a strong voice.
The OYA President decried that the high level of insecurity in the state is caused by poor governance and selfish representation, adding that when youths are productively engaged, crime, violence and insecurity cease.
“Insecurity has really dealt with us, no foreign direct investment
“It is a natural law to address insecurity.
“We call on the federal government to prioritize security and stop playing to the gallery.
In the foregoing, Obiefule called on political office holders to meaningfully engage youths of Orlu Zone while calling on relevant security agents to intensify efforts to arrest the situation at all cost, noting that nothing works without security of a place.
“Insecurity, being engineered by the state actors – given to poor governance – spurred by greed, wickedness and hatred, is an irritating problem in Orlu Zone and my leadership is going to work proactively with security agencies from all strata to find a lasting solution”, the President stressed.
