Group Tips Sen. Anyanwu as Right man for Imo Governorship Election
A group, Salvage Imo Project 2023 has thrown its weight behind Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Samdaddy), the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) governorship candidate for the November 11, 2023 gubernatorial elections in Imo State.
The group made this known at its state meeting attended by delegates from the 27 local government areas of the State in Owerri, Imo State capital.
The meeting was graced by captains of industries, notable Imo indigenes and the media where the group’s President Mazi Jude Okafor assured Senator Anyanwu that they would support him until victory is achieved.
Okafor said that the support of the group, which is non political and non partisan, for Senator Anyanwu was based on his laudable antecedents and excellent achievements in the various political positions he had occupied.
He recalled Anyanwu’s philanthropic gestures through which he effectively empowered numerous people in his zone, Imo State and the country at large.
“Anyanwu attracted many projects to his zone and the state during his tenure as senator representing Owerri zone especially in the areas of small scale businesses,” Okafor said.
He said that the group painstakingly scrutinized the background and performances of the other governorship candidates and after due, unbiased and conscious appraisal considered Senator Anyanwu as the right man for the job.
“Other candidates are good in their own rights but Senator Anyanwu is better,” he said.
The Salvage Imo Project president called on well-meaning Imo people to support Anyanwu based on what he described as his track and verifiable records as former Ikeduru Local government chairman and two term member who represented Ikeduru state constituency in the Imo House of Assembly.
“Senator Anyanwu (popularly known as Samdaddy) also effectively represented Owerri Zone (Imo East) in the Senate where he chaired notable committees.
” All these portray the PDP candidate as a grassroots politician who will consequently use his down to earth approach and people oriented policies to address the numerous challenges bedevilling Imo State like insecurity, lack of social welfare for Imo residents, rising inflation, poor rural infrastructural development and lack of human capital development among others, ” he said.
Commenting, Mr Franklin Eze who spoke on behalf of the other local government area coordinators said that they are in solidarity with Senator Anyanwu, come rain, come shine.
He said serious mobilization effort had commenced especially at the grassroost to garner massive votes for Samdaddy.
A representative of the Imo Business Community, Chief Felix Nwabueze urged Imo people not to waste their votes by voting for any other candidate except the ‘quintessential politician and technocrat Samdaddy.’
According to him, Anyanwu emerging as the governor of Imo State is a good thing that will happen to the state.
He urged Samdaddy’s supporters not to be violent but always play according to the rules of the game before, during and after the election.
