The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Dr. Mrs. Basilia Igbokwe, led a distinguished delegation to offer condolences and stand in solidarity with the bereaved family.

Dr. Anne Chioma Chima, born on February 8, 1966, to the late Elder Jonathan Obadiah Onwuamaegbu and Deaconess Mercy Agbajuwe Isiuwa, hailed from the Ogbuebulle Community in Oboro, Ikwuano LGA, Abia State. As the eldest of six siblings, she lived a life marked by faith, diligence, and philanthropy. A devoted wife, caring mother, and compassionate individual, her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity touched many lives. She passed away on February 8, 2025, leaving behind a profound impact.

The funeral service, held at Government Secondary School, Owutu Edda, was presided over by an officiating priest who described Dr. Chima as a God-fearing woman whose life exemplified unwavering faith and selflessness.
In her condolence remarks, Rector Dr. Igbokwe urged Squadron Leader Chima Idika Chima (Rtd) to remain steadfast and find solace in his children, who need his strength now more than ever.

She commended the former 14th Council Chairman for his unwavering support for his late wife and highlighted his meritorious service to Federal Polytechnic Nekede, under which the institution achieved significant milestones. Dr. Igbokwe reaffirmed the institution’s unwavering support for him and his family during this difficult time.

Dr. Anne Chioma Chima is survived by her devoted husband, Squadron Leader Chima Idika Chima (Rtd), and their three cherished children: Samuel Ifeanyichukwu Chima, Maria Onyinyechi Chima, and Favour Esther Chima. She is also survived by her siblings—Engr. Emmanuel Isiuwa, Mrs. Elizabeth Umoru, Mr. Nwachukwu Isiuwa, Mr. Festus Isiuwa, and Mrs. Abigail Egbe—as well as numerous relatives and friends.

The Rector’s presence, alongside her delegation, underscored Federal Polytechnic Nekede’s commitment to honoring the contributions of its past leaders. This gesture reflects the institution’s ongoing efforts to foster inclusivity and maintain strong ties with its community.
