Ambassador Uju Condemns Molestation Of Lady In Nasarawa
By ThankGod Emeh…
Renowned journalist and Women leader of Young Progressives Party, YPP, Ambassador Chika Uju has decried the inhumane treatment, molestation and malhandling of a 20 year old female student, Blessing Mathias by an Associate professor in the Department of History and International Studies, Federal University of Lafia, Dr. Fred Ella- Ayokhaia alongside his three children (a girl and two boys) in Lafia, Nasarawa State recently, describing it as a total infringement of the lady’s fundamental Human Rights.
Ambassador Uju while commending the Nasarawa State Police Command for charging the Associate Professor, and his children to court for allegedly assaulting the lady, called on people to put on human face in all their actions by always putting themselves in people’s shoes so as to treat them well, adding that love is the greatest guide for all human relations.
She said, “This is a very sad incident. I detest it. Such act is inhumane. I condemn it”
“People should not see their fellow humans as animals. People should respect God, fear God and show love to others for God is love. He created, formed us based on His love for mankind. Let us not abuse God’s grace”
Hon. Uju who was of the opinion that people should be examined before employment to ascertain their level of mentality added that “the Associate Professor and children though arrested and facing prosecution should not be let free”.
“Prof.’s action is a disgrace to professorship. Such person should not lecture students because he does not have anything to offer morally”
She said it is sinful for a learned man in that capacity to treat a female in such manner alongside his children despite any misunderstanding as reason for assaulting the lady.
“He should have reported to the police if the girl in question did insult him or his household”
“…Since the case is in court, all I am praying for is justice for the girl and the girl should be compensated while those that displayed such nefarious character should face the music. It will serve as a warning to others who are warming up to treat women like animals”
The revered Women leader also stressed that the community in Enugu State that strips widow naked over picking up bush snail from the bush should be prosecuted too pointing them all as evil men.
“the lady beaten, stripped naked as a result of tradition is very barbaric as snail picked in the bush should not attract such humiliation. She never stole. Was the rules of the village or community reeled to her?, Ambassador Uju concluded.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigation by the Nasarawa State Police Command has revealed that Emmanuela Ella Ayokhaia, the daughter of the Associate Professor and the victim had a misunderstanding over a man named IG. The victim accused Emmanuela of snatching her supposed boyfriend and assaulting her. In retaliation, Emmanuela mobilized her family, went after the victim, and got her assaulted as well.
It was gathered earlier that Blessing had beaten the lecturer’s daughter, Emanuella, for allegedly snatching her boyfriend IG.
It was also learned that the fight between the girls ensued after she discovered that Emanuella had her boyfriend’s phone number in her phone, which she refused to delete from her phone.
According to information obtained from the videos in the State, Blessing’s friends gathered to beat Emanuella. She was allegedly seen slapping Emanuella and hitting her from different sides forcing her to delete the number of her boyfriend from her phone.
Few days after the fight, Fred Ella Ayokhai, his Daughter Emanuella and brother, Praise Shola, and others attacked Blessing in retaliation of the beaten allegedly received from Blessing and her cohorts.
Reports have it that the blessing was driven to an unknown location as captured in a viral video where Ayokhaia, the lecturer allegedly used scissors to cut off Blessing’s wears.
