Flood: Uju Charity and Empowerment Initiative Commiserates With Borno State Govt, NAWOJ National Chairperson, Victims

A promising Non-governmental Organization, the Uju Charity and Empowerment Initiative (UCEI) has commiserated with the Borno State government alongside the National Chairperson of National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Aisha Ibrahim as well as all the victims of flood in Borno state with cash donation of One Hundred Thousand Naira (#100,000.00) Only with food and relief items.

According to the leadership of the NGO, the gesture was to help cushion the devastating effects of the two weeks disaster on the people who have lost their loved ones, and invaluable properties to the flood, noting that all they need is consolation, and aids across board so as to enable them scale through this turbulent time.

In a Solidarity letter that accompanied the donation dated Monday,September 16, 2024 and rooted through Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum and NAWOJ National Chairperson, Aisha Bura Ibrahim, the management and staff of UCEI decried the situation and called on both the State and Federal governments as well as well meaning citizens to assist the Victims.

“The flood that has ravaged Borno State in the past two weeks is devastating. With hundreds of deaths reported, farm land, buildings and infrastructures submerged by flood. More a million people have been displaced and many reported missing.This is onedie star too many”
UCEI however prayed for God’s mercies to see them through the hard time.

“The Executives, staffs and the members of Uju Charity & Empowerment Initiative (UCEI) do sympathize with the Government, People of Borno State and the National Chairperson Nigeria Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ) Aisha Bura Ibrahim, we feel you pains. We pray that God in His infinite mercy grant the families that lost their loved ones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, and at the time call the Federal Government, religious organizations, co-operate organizations and civil society organizations and public spirited individuals to urgently extend the needed aid to people of Borno State
“This is not the time to talk, rather it’s time to work the talk”, they added.
