Amaimo Gives Senator Samuel Anyanwu Resounding Reception …He is our son in whom we are well pleased

Amaimo clan in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State went agog weekend as almost all and sundry trooped out enmasse oblivious of any political differences to accord their illustrious son, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu popularly known as Samdaddy a grand civic reception

Senator Anyanwu, an astute politician, is the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) Governorship candidate in the forthcoming Imo State gubernatorial election in November 11, 2023.

Speaking at the event, a prominent son of the community and a political juggernaut Prof. Vitals Orikeze Ajumbe said the event was organised as a solidarity to their son Senator Anyanwu, the governorship aspiration.

Prof. Ajumbe, a former Commissioner for Information, Public Utilities and Tourism in Imo State, enjoined Amaimo people not to waver in their support for Samdaddy.

He pointed out that their son has what it takes intellectually, experience and knowledge wise, with contacts and the political sagacity to pilot the affairs of Imo State creditably as governor.

He called on them to massively vote for Samdaddy in the November election.

In his address, another notable son of Amaimo Barr. Jerry Egbuhuzor pointed out that Senator Anyanwu “is the quintessential heart beat of Amaimo clan, “in whom we are well pleased. ”

He said Sen. Anyanwu has a divine mandate, and described him as a man after God’s heart and a man of grace.

Chief Egbuhuzor declared that no matter how hard detractors try, they can not stop Senator Anyanwu (Akaekpuchionwa) and Sir Jones Onyeriri from emerging as the Governor and Deputy Governor respectively of our dear Imo State come November 11, 2023.

He promised that a single vote will not miss in favour of Sam/Jones candidature.

Egbuhuzor stated conclusively that making Imo safe again is assured with Sam/Jones.

Representatives of different groups, clubs, political parties and opinion leaders took turns to register their support and solidarity with Sam/Jones governorship and deputy governorship bid.

They pledged their loyalty and sincerity of purpose to Sam/Jones until victory is achieved.

An influential indigene of Amaimo, Chief Christian Akujobi who spoke to Salvage Imo Project, a group committed to good governance in Imo State, stated that if the results in the polling booths in Ikeduru are properly analysed as in the just concluded elections which include Local Governments, State and Federal positions, APC in Ikeduru will not win upto five percent of total votes that will be genuinely cast in Ikeduru and wondered how APC can make the illusionary 4+4 in Imo State.

He affirmed “that Samdaddy is seriously coming.”

Responding, Senator Anyanwu who is generally accepted in Imo State as the wave of the moment, expressed his pleasure at seeing his people, the old and the young, different calibre of men and women even the physically challenged abandone their respective businesses to grace the reception.

He said that by their presence at the accasion, he is now more emboldened and encouraged to pursue his ambition which he said “is a collective one with them.”

Anyanwu promised that he will not disappoint them and the confidence they reposed on him if by the grace of God he is elected as the Governor of Imo State.

He disclosed that he has articulated his vision for a better Imo State in his manifesto in the most critical areas which include but not limited to security, infrastructural development, education, tourism, transportation.

Others he said are in youth development, investments, health, local government development, light, urban water service, sanitation, housing aside others while making the moriblud industries to work again.

The man of the people assured them and Imo people in general an all inclusive governance.

Meanwhile, while members of the community emptied into the Amaimo Central School field, venue of the reception, four traditional rulers in four Amaimo Autonomous Communities were languishing in the sitting room of the country home of the Deputy Governor of Imo State Prof. Placid njoku who is also a son of Amaimo as they were held hostage by the deputy governor.

It was gathered that Prof. Njoku invited the affected traditional rulers early that day stated for Samdaddy’s reception for what he called “an all important meeting with them.”

The unsuspecting traditional rulers honoured the make belief meeting without knowing that they were under “house arrest” or stepping into what some people described as “deputy governor’s detention.”

Unfortunately, it turned out to be a ploy by the deputy governor to bar the traditionally rulers from attending the Samdaddy’s reception.

It was learnt from a reliable source that the traditional rulers regained their freedom from the illegal detention late in the evening when the reception came to a close.

The traditional rulers sweating profusely and hungry according to an eye witness angrily left for their respective palaces without uttering a word or discussing with anybody.

A community leader in Amaimo who pleaded anonymity condemned this unholy action by Prof. Njoku and described it as very reprehensible, dehumanising and desecration of the Amaimo traditional institute and stools of their ancestors.

He said that the community will definitely review the matter and address it with the seriousness it deserves.

Other prominent personalities of Amaimo who attended the reception include Chief Fab. Uzoh, Chief Remigus Ariole, Mr Francis Ugorji who is the Chairman of Amaimo elders Council, some Catholic priests from Amaimo and a host of others.

Important highlight of the occasion was the cancellation of the curse placed on anyone who will vote for Sam/Jones at the Nov. 11 election in Imo State by the traditional rules of Orlu zone by the ojiofors of Amaimo clan.
