Amaimo Clan Sets Up Security Outfit to Stamp out Criminality …Collaborates with Police, other Security Agencies ||| NEWS CORNER

Amaimo Clan Development Council in Ikeduru local government area of Imo state has set up a formidable security outfit to secure the clan and stamp out all forms of criminality in the locality while warning scavengers to steer clear of Amaimo clan as anyone caught henceforth will face the wrath of security agents.

The Inauguration of the Security outfit which took place during the meeting of the Council at the palace of the Traditional Ruler of Umuuri Amaimo, Ikeduru local government area, Eze Peter Njoku (Eze Uri 2 of Umuuri Amaimo) recently had prominent sons of Amaimo, including the four Traditional Rulers that made up of Amaimo Clan as well as the Former Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Imo State Council who doubles as the Secretary of the Council, Chief Chris Akaraonye in attendance.

The Amaimo Clan made up of four autonomous communities namely Amaimo accent kingdom, Umuri Amaimo, Umuofor Amaimo and Obodo Amaimo autonomous communities will, through this development, experience a round-the-clock security watch as the security personnel is made up of agile and peace-loving people..

Speaking at the Inauguration of the Security outfit, the Chairman of Amaimo Development Council, Prof. Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe charged the newly engaged security personnel to discharge their duties carefully and professionally while putting up a human face in their operations.

Prof Ajumbe advised the management of the outfit to always work within their jurisdiction, shun double standards and not take over the works of the Police and other sister security agencies to detain and bail people.

“You are not licensed to detain and bail people, so as soon as you make any arrest, you are under law to hand the suspect(s) to the Police and follow up from there”

The Amaimo Development Council Chairman called on the security outfit to secure the forest and bushes in the locality as well as clear blindspots and hideouts in the areas to drive away all criminal elements such as drug dealers, drug addicts, kidnappers, armed robbers among others.

He however assured the local security personnel of the resolutions of Amaimo Development Council towards a well-packaged remuneration while thanking the Councillor representing Amaimo ward in Ikeduru legislative Council, Hon. Udochukwu Dickson Elegaram for putting up the Security outfit for the benefit of the entire Amaimo Clan.

Administering the oath of office on the members of the Security Outfit, the traditional ruler of Umuri Amaimo Eze Dr Peter Njoku, who is also the Chairman of the Ikeduru traditional rulers advised the members to adhere to the instructions given to them by the Chairman of Amaimo Clan Development Council and always work with the traditional rulers. He assured them that the traditional rulers would support them at all times in performing their duties.
