Ugwumba Movement Lead Sensitization Campaign On Monthly Sanitation

Imolites has been enjoined to be actively involved in the monthly sanitation exercise which comes up every last Saturday of the month.
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Hygiene and Sanitation, Mrs Dorothy Ugwuoha gave this advice at the flag off of Ugwumba Movement Sensitization Campaign on monthly sanitation exercise.
While addressing officers of Ugwumba Movement, Mrs Ugwuoha recalled that Imo use to be the cleanest city in the country, stressing that the present administration under the leadership of His Excellency Sen. Hope Uzodinma is determined to return the lost glory of the state.
“In the light of this administration’s passion to keep the state clean, the Imo State House of Assembly has recent passed a bill for a compulsory monthly sanitation exercise every last Saturday of the month, therefore it is everyone’s obligation to show compliance and commitment to the cause, we are impressed with what Ugwumba Movement is doing by leading this campaign, we also encourage them to continue in this direction because it takes the spirit of God and someone who has the spirit of giving to do this”, she said.

Member representing Nkwerre in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Chisom Ojukwu who also joined in the exercise commended Ugwumba Movement for leading by example adding that keeping Imo state clean is a top most priority that requires a collective effort while urging other non governmental organization to follow suit.
Earlier in his remark, the Director General Ugwumba Movement, High Chief Chibuike Ahamefula noted that Ugwumba Movement is a subsidiary of Ugwumba Leadership Center; a non profit organization saddled with the responsibility of providing succour to the needy and less privileged adding that the sensitization is in line with the shared prosperity mantra of the Governor Sen. Hope Uzodinma to recover the glory of Imo state as the cleanest city.
He further said that Ugwumba Movement is only playing a participatory role by sensitizing Imolites more on the need to observe the monthly public sanitation exercise.
