President Buhari Felicitates Nigerian Women on Int’l Women’s Day
President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated Nigerian women as they celebrate International Women’s Day, IWD, March 8, 2023 with the themed “Digital: Innovation and technology for gender equality.”

President Buhari while emphasizing the immeasurable role of women in society, noted that Nigerian women have been on the front burner of making developmental contributions to the country since independence.
The President stressed that Nigerian women have been known for their commitment and steadfastness hence their resounding results in all walks of life, from “those sacrificing daily in markets and farms to train the next generation of leaders, to those breaking barriers in education, sports, the medical field, arts, entertainment, and even politics, where they are still largely under-represented”
In his message to women, the President said he expressed happiness to have worked with some of Nigeria’s brightest women in his cabinet, government and the international community.
President Buhari however acknowleded the contributions of outstanding women who are seen as role models and have demonstrated that through hardwork, dedication, honesty.
He assured the poise of the APC led government to promoting gender equality, respect for the rights of women and working round the clock to remove all barriers that prevent Nigerian women from realising their universal rights.
