SOS: Darlington Maduabuchi Raises Alarm Over Threat To Life, Calls For Foreign Help
An Imolite and one of the survivors of security clashes, attacks, killings, and misunderstandings between the Military, Ebubeagu militia, and members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) among other freedom fighting groups, Alaefule Darlington Maduabuchi have raised alarm over serious threats to his life and family members, calling on International authorities to come to his rescue.
Maduabuchi decried the ugly developments in the country as well as the dreaded-monster-face narratives being attributed to the IPOB and its members in recent years, adding that the only alleged crime has been an issue bordering on gross marginalization of the Igbo tribe which the IPOB serially points at.
“My name is Alaefule Darlington Maduabuchi, I am from Imo State and a member of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB). Our only crime in the Nigerian State is because we seek peaceful self-determination and freedom because of the so much marginalization and maltreatment against our people of the Igbo descendants and Biafra from the Nigerian Government”

The badly threatened Maduabuchi recounted as ‘hell’ what he passed through to have escaped in the face of an armed attack that got his innocent brothers and friends numbering fourteen (14) killed by the Ebubeagu militia while returning from a Traditional Wedding in Awo-Omamma, Oru West Local government area of Imo state on Wednesday, 20th July 2022 under the guise of fighting terrorism.

“The recent and most painful was in last year 20th July 2022, when in the company of other brothers to Awo- Mmama in Oru west local government of Imo State to attend a small wedding ceremony of a brother, after the little celebration and on our way back home, the security outfit of Imo State known as Ebubeagu under the directives and orders of the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma opened fire on my brothers and friends and brutally killed 14 innocent youths returning from the wedding and claiming we were IPOB and Biafra members and our only sin is peaceful self-determination and freedom. This incidence can be googled and found on the internet as well”

“I managed to escape that brutal shooting and murder and since and before then my life has been at serious risk in Imo state and country”
He, however, lamented that his life is in danger of being threatened by unknown persons through calls, and text messages in addition to his movements being trailed often even before and after the attack and killing of his friends and brothers.

Similarly, Alaefule Darlington Maduabuchi noted that the same manner of Military, Police, and militia attacks have greeted many people who own up to being a member of IPOB or believe in the struggle for Biafra and to put an end to the marginalization of the Igbo race including IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“I have been a member of the Biafran movement since 2015 and in September 2017, we were in a peaceful meeting in the country home of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Afara Ibeku Umuahia, Abia State when the Nigerian Soldiers came and massacred many of our members who were without any arms or ammunition and some of us managed to escape just as did our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu too”

Maduabuchi, therefore called for international intervention in his case as well as the continuous attacks and killings of IPOB members across the country with Imo state likely taking the lead, noting that their assistance would ensure his safety, that of his family members and other Innocent citizens who are helpless to freely lead their lives and go about their legal businesses.
