Over 13000 Commercial Drivers To Benefit Health Insurance ||| NEWS CORNER
By Eleugu Mgbemgasa…
The Convener of Hope Vanguard and Consultant to Imo State Government on Daily Ticket, Prince Jeff Ukachukwu, has disclosed that keke, bus and tipper drivers in Imo State are going to benefit insurance that can help them better their lives.
He noted that commercial drivers who are going to benefit from the first phase of the Insurance Program are Tricycle, Imo City Transport and Tipper operators, positing that the program is sponsored by Hope Vanguard and Daily Ticket International.
Speaking in Owerri during an enlightenment program, Ukachukwu explained that the Insurance Program is an innovation targeted at meeting the welfare: health insurance, shelter and financial needs of Imo commercial bus drivers who he said pay daily ticket to government.

Ukachukwu stressed that HV and DTI are partnering with Heirs Insurance, United Bank of Africa (UBA), CreditReeds RMCSL to package a program for these targeted drivers to advance better living by paying #2000 and #3000 yearly, hinting that the program will be sustained as it was not politically engineered. He added that the divers will equally benefit from the Social Housing Scheme of the state government, as their children will also get education and health insurance.
He observed that “as part of our social corporate responsibility, we are seeing that there are insurance benefits for these people that are paying daily ticket to government while doing the same business. We do not want a situation where a bus driver cannot afford proper healthcare, have house of his own, buy a new bus. So, DTI in its effort to give meaning to these people is bringing in UBA, Heirs Insurance and CreditReeds to package a program for them. The Insurance Scheme captures Health Management Insurance, Life General Insurance and Acquisition of Keke or Bus”.
Just as an Insurance Consultant, Hon. Signo Kanu, corroborated that DTI is using the innovation to assist commercial vehicle drivers to eke out proper living with sound health.
In his word, the Imo State Coordinator, Hope Vanguard and PRO, DTI, Senior Comr. Linus Duru (Olu-Ehime), affirmed that the insurance scheme is germane as it will positively change the lives of those who are going to benefit from it, calling on those concerned to come forward and apply.
Hence, Hope Vanguard, DTI, Imo City Transport, Disabled Sports Club, NATA and others have endorsed Governor Hope Uzodimma for 2nd term. They said he has helped them in so many areas and expressed gratitude to him.
Moving the motion for the endorsement, Imo State Chairman of Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), Comr. Kyrian Nnadi, stated that their reason for endorsing the 2nd term bid of the Governor was because he has performed excellently especially on road construction, rehabilitation across the state, saying they believe he is going to do more if he is reelected.
Supporting the endorsement, Chairman, Imo Bus, Elder Anele Ukanwune (Obowo) and Chairman, Transport and Taxi Association, Engr. Nwosu Onyedikachi (Chinkachi), hinted that the over 13000 commercial drivers in Imo State who he said will benefit from the insurance scheme are going to solidly support and reelect Uzodimma to enable him continue his good work to edify the state for the good of all persons.
