Interacting with Journalists during the event, Ichie Tobenna Mgbeduru said; “we are here to present this association to the public…it is a noble association for the betterment of Ogberuru people. we have made our impacts in the lives of our people right from inception.
“Home is always the best, there is no place like home, we hear the cry of our people and we come to their aid in our own little way.
“On my own part I have made significant financial and moral supports for the good of the association and the betterment of Ogberuru people, I am a strong believer in the adage that says “charity begins at home””.
“I seized this opportunity to appeal to both the leadership and all the members of this noble association to do everything possible to move it forward to a greater height, I know nobody is perfect, we have lapses, we have issues to address and solutions to proffer where and when necessary, I call on all to continue to do their best for the betterment of our people”.
In the words of Chief Sir Aham Nwosu, an Illustrous son of Ogberuru, Orlu LGA, Imo State, resident in Canada, said; “this our first official outing was a huge success, commendations to the leadership OIDA.
“I feel happy about this association established for brotherly love, growth and development of Ogberuru Community.
“We are here today for official inauguration, the association was established to help our people, particularly the less privileged and vulnerable ones in Ogberuru. We have assisted many and intended to do more to the glory of God.
“The world has become a global village, I am of the view that we should continue to reach out to relate with each other. With ICT, distance is no longer a barrier, no matter wherever you may be, once is time for us to meet, we always communicate effectively thorough various communication channels available to us.
“If am to rate this event, performance of the leadership is above passmark or credit, the leadership deserves distinction, they have truly done noble as pace setters, our Traditional Rulers from Ogberuru were, including other prominent indigenes of Ogberuru were here to grace the event so we are happy”
Expressing expectations on the future of the association and where he wants it to be in the next five
years; he disclosed they have plans to build a world class hospital for Ogberuru as it is obtainable in the western world.
On his message to the youths, said; “the youths should not lose hope due to economic condition of the country and bad political leadership from the political class, we will do everything possible to support them, those that want to go into trade we shall support them to be self reliant, the youths are vital in today’s generation and in future, we are not going to neglect them.
“All the promises we made here today are debt we owe and we must pay these debts for the sake of humanity and posterity”
Expressing his views during a media chat, Chief Sir Izunwanne Ogueri, from Ezimba Ogberuru, eulogised Ogberuru indigenes and the leadership of OIDA for putting heads together to make it a reality,
Speaking further, he said; “although there are little lapses here and there but there is large room for adjustment, improvement and perfection. As you noticed from the begining of the Programme, somethings were done here, but in all it was successful, to God be the glory who brought us here safely to discuss about the good of our community, Ogberuru is moving forward and it will be from glory to glory”.

Adding his voice; Chief Charles Amagba,
According to him, ” I have done a lot financially and morally to help our brothers in South Africa, America and other places, I have contributed to bring them together, I am one of the pillars of Ogberuru in Diaspora. I’m m happy at what I have seen, there are signs of progress, unity of purpose, productive activities, irrespective of challenges, and insecurity, I am happy about the level of progress we have made in this association.
“My name is Chief Kelechi Adiole, ( Nwachinemere na Birmingham, I am highly impressed, we have come to identify with our people, there is no place like home, we want to move our community and the society forward. We are poised to close any vacuum, stop retrogression; we are ready to address issues about under development in Ogberuru, we will strive to contribute, and ensure we touch the lives of our people for good. Where we live abroad, government did everything for us free at standard level as long as you are citizens or residents. My problem with Nigeria is that people pray every year without action towards progressive and productive change. Citizens have a lot of role to play, but they pray a lot without plans and actions.
“Nigeria is a blessed country , no country, no hurricane, no earth quake, some natural disasters that happen in other countries does not happen here, our country is blessed from what happens in the western world.
“The onus is our leaders to be realistic, progressive and productive and proactive with people oriented programs.
“It’s weakness on the path of the citizens to be dormant over their right, they should stand firm and demand what belongs to them in the spirit of Equity, justice and fairness”
In the views of Mr Sunday Adiole known as Onatara Dike Mma, Akpu Nku Na Tennessee , “three is nothing much; this is our first get together, before now, a lot of life touching activities have been carried out by this group.
“I flew from Lagos to be part of this unique meeting. It is very important for our people to be united, always remember home, pursue common agenda for the good of all, anything you can do to help a brother and loved ones down here just do, tomorrow is pregnant, no body knows the stomach that will give birth to a king.
“Ogberuru people in Diaspora have been under one umbrella working to give back to our community, we all know where we came from and we are passionate about leaving a legacy, landmark impact is in our mind… We operate with the mentality of Aku ruo Ulo. Where we live is okay, those things we see there, we want to replicate them here, I know it’s not hundred percent possible but on our little effort, we can do much within our capacity.
“I seize this opportunity to call on my brother’s both home and diaspora to always to be the best they can be and be ready to do their best for the good and development of Ogberuru and the society in general .
“We have come they have showed us their heart desires for the good of our people, their actions and views are very wonderful and impressive. We are pleased with their good intentions to help our children in school and give our markets Youths, I pray that God will strengthen them to achieve all their agenda for Ogberuru, particularly the world class hospital, our people need to have access to good health care facilities, President united Ogberuru Youths stressed.
Speaking during the event; Eze Sir Paul Ndubuisi Uloeme, Obi Ukwu one of Ogberuru, Orlu LGA, said; he came to show solidarity to his people in disposra who are doing well to touch lives down here , the sense of social responsibility of OIDA is second to none.
“We are glad they came together to form a united front to help Ogberuru people, it gives joy when you see your sons and daughters all over the world called to come and witness good things they are doing and their meaningful efforts to bring development to their native land ,
It is not easy but they are making good efforts to touch lives.
“Those at home should be happy, the should not sabotage efforts of those in Diaspora, what their good spirited efforts need is maximum support.
“I seized this opportunity to encourage them to remain focused and dedicated, I also pray that God will bless them for their positive mindset and developmental efforts for the good of Ogberuru”
