NBM For Africa Donates #1 million Naira for Medical Bills, Upkeep of Dialysis Patient in Imo…

A freedom and justice oriented organization, the NBM for Africa, New Owerri zone, Imo state, speaking truth to one of its core values which borders on humanitarian missions across boards on Monday January 27, 2025 paid off the medical bills of a dialysis patient, Mr Silas Ikechukwu upon receiving distress call for medical assistance.

The NBM for Africa leadership who visited the patient at the Regions Healthcare Specialist and Specialist Clinics Mgbirichi, Ohaji Egbema LGA, Imo State, expressed love and unity of purpose in identifying with the needy in society.

Presenting the cheque of One Million Naira (#1,000,000) to the patient to cover his medical bills and upkeep till he fully recovers, the Zonal President of NBM for Africa New Owerri, Chief Kingsley Nwogu said the medical mission was informed by the organization’s vision and mission statements to make the world a better place and giving back to society among other core values which include “fighting against intimidation, injustice and suppression”.

Chief Nwogu noted that the group offers unconditional and selfless services to the general public irrespective of the persons involved, adding that the leadership and members of the group swung into action to assist the patient without protocol as the request falls within its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

“As part of our core missions and values guided by the principles of democracy, equality/equity, and Social Justice, as well as being a humanitarian, non-partisan, non-religious, and non-tribal organization, we felt compelled to assist him.

“We strongly believe in charitable works for humanity and this is just one of many ways we strive to make a positive impact”, the NBM of Africa Zonal President disclosed.

Receiving the payment to offset the medical bills among other medical needs, the dialysis patient, Mr Silas Ikechukwu from Ohaji Egbema expressed appreciation to the leaders and members of NBM for Africa New Owerri zone for reaching out to him, noting that “he feels loved and would not take the gesture for granted” and therefore prayed for greater heights of the organization.

“I feel overjoyed and indebted to them…I say a very big thank you and God bless them”

Appreciating further, the mother of the patient, Hon. Patience Ikechukwu who spoke alongside her children, thanked the NBM for Africa team for coming to their aid and prayed for God’s infinite mercies to follow the organization.

“I don’t know what to use and qualify this gesture… I am over-happy to see that the ‘NBM Organization’ came here to visit and pay for the bill of my son. They have tried for him by visiting and by this payment”

“I don’t know how to thank God, and I pray that as they did for Silas, my God will do for all of them,” Hon. Ikechukwu expressed.

Speaking also, the Deputy President of New Owerri zone, Engr. Paschal Oparaiheoma stressed that NBM for Africa is poised to put smiles on people’s faces by giving the general public a fair playing ground, adding that the organization had overtime reached out to the needy, the downtrodden, and the wrongly detained people as well as Orphanage homes to cater for them.

Engr. Oparaiheoma also emphasized the need to change the ugly perception and narratives of the general public about the organization as the core values of NBM for Africa spread across intervention works and human capacity building.

“We want people to understand that our intentions are rooted in goodwill, preservation, protection, and advancement of African culture.

“Our organization also focuses on empowering youths by educating them on positive behaviors through seminars, community outreach, and skill acquisition programs.

“We shall continue to show commitment to the good of humanity, reinforcing the idea that collective humanitarian actions can effect positive changes in the lives of those in need”, Oparaiheoma added.

Reacting to the humanitarian gesture, the management of the hospital eulogized the NBM for Africa for being truthful to their promise to foot the medical bills of Mr. Ikechukwu, noting that the dialysis management of the outpatient is improving as he enjoined them to continue to the good works.

Some members of NBM Of Africa New Owerri Zone who were at the hospital were Sir. White (The Zonal Chairman ), Dr. Justice, Hon. Christopher, and Hon. Martins, amongst others.
