Obi Vs Others: ObiDatti Campaign Townhall Meeting with Diaspora Stakeholders, Others Speaks Volume of Acceptability, People’s Choice

As political consultations and engagements get hotter towards the proposed lifting of campaigns on by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti Campaign team as well as the Labour Party is leaving no stone unturned to get the feel of Nigerians home and abroad on the workings of government and to give the adequate sense of belonging to the Country’s affairs.

According to the Diapora Committee and Desk of the Labour party and ObiDatti Campaign team, the round-the-clock engagements are to properly fasten up the party and candidates electioneering seat belts towards the 2023 elections.

The Director General of ObiDatti Presidential Campaign, Dr Doyin Okupe and Campaign Diaspora Desk Director, Nina Atalor alongside the Labour Party’s Chairman on Diaspora Committee, Hon Chibuike Amadichi while speaking to Nigerian Diaspora Community across the world in a virtual meeting held on Thursday 22nd September 2022, stressed that the main focus is not all about money as being wrongly propagated by opposition and mischief makers but for the party, the candidates and Nigerians to jointly fight to win and change the ugly narrative of governance in the country.

Dr. Okupe who spoke intermittently, fielding questions on engagements, encouraged the over 150 participants in the virtual meeting, the Diasporan Community and Nigerians back home not to relent in their efforts at contributing the quota to making the country a better place to live in and make business.

The DG made it clear that there’s no law preventing Diasporans from supporting any good cause they believe in as to ensure Peter obi and Ahmed Datti’s victory at the polls, having taken time to study the Electoral law.

He said, “The candidate is not limited, the support group and the Diasporan desk are not limited. Diasporans can give money to any support group and can support the candidates and it is not against any law”

Dr Okupe enjoined all Diasporan groups to jettison self-service adding that the Diasporan desk is geared towards strengthening focus.

The Chairman Diaspora Committee of Labour Party in his remarks appreciates the Nigerians in Diaspora for their overwhelming support to the Party and its candidates, while encouraging them to identify with the upcoming structures and chapters of Labour Party in their respective Countries of residence.

While speaking in the meeting, the whole Diasporans made their dreams, yearning and love for a better Nigeria known adding that they will do all their best to support Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti as they are the only verifiable, sound, tested and trusted leader that the country needs especially at this point in time where the country is lagging behind in harnessing and managing the nation’s economy.

They commended the Labour Party for having ObiDatti as the party’s Presidential candidate as well as the ObiDatti campaign team for their dogged engagements across boards to show themselves approved of the job they seek.

The meeting had notable personalities of repute in participation lending their wealth of experience in the political space while requesting for cooperation.
