Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Imo State chapter, Comrade Chukwuemeka Isidore Chidozie, has applauded Governor Emeka Ihedioha on good governance having kept his word as he commenced the payment of pension arrears to Imo pensioners recently.

He gave the commendation while chatting with journalists at the Port- Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Rivers State, upon arrival from Abuja.

Chukwuemeka, who hinted that he went to Abuja for an official assignment, said he was happy when he got the news that Imo pensioners had received alert of two Months Arrears of their Entitlements, observed that "what excited me most was the manner the Imo State Government handled the payment immediately after the Pension Verification Exercise. This has shown that the Governor is a trusted partner in the new Imo Project".

He reiterated the commitment of the youth under his leadership to give the Governor all the needed support to enable him succeed.

"His Excellency, Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, has demonstrated uncommon courage and capacity in this regard, this is good leadership in action. The my word, my Bond mantra of the Governor is not a mere saying after all. I am glad that the Governor has proved that he is a man of his word. I'm very happy for this and am sure every Imolite is also happy. Look at how he has digitalized Pension Matters, hence Pensioners now receive alert from the comfort of their homes. This is unprecedented", Chukwuemeka said.

On the issue of dilapidated roads across the State, Chukwuemeka said he is confident that the construction and rehabilitation of both Urban and Rural Roads across the State will commence as soon as the rain is over, hoping that the Governor will no doubt fulfill his promise to Imo people, just as he exemplified in the Pension Issue.

On political situation in the State, the Servant Leader, appealed to the Political Gladiators to join hands with the Governor to Rebuild and move Imo forward.

In his word, "the so-called gang up of some people against the Governor and the PDP had already failed as some people had come out to deny being part of the arrangement. Imolites should collectively, responsibly with one purpose work to enable Imo bounce back and reclaim her pride of place in the comity of States in the Country and beyond".

He expressed optimism that Governor Emeka Ihedioha "will surely deliver on his mandate because he is prepared for good leadership and has the capacity to stir the ship of Imo to a safe and protected destination to advancing socio-cultural, political and economic development of the State".

The council thanked the Governor for taking Youth Empowerment as a priority while hailing the cordial working relationship between the Ministry of Youth and Social Development/Bureau for Youth Affairs, manned by Honourable Okey Umez Eronin and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Affairs, Engineer Rex Okoro.
