NUJ Zone C Vice President, Comrade Ezenwa Adiuku JP Sends New Month Message to Journalists, Media Practitioners, People of South East
The Vice President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zone C (South East), Comrade Ezenwa Adiuku, JP, has issued a goodwill message to journalists, media practitioners, and the entire populace of the South East geopolitical zone as they usher in the month of October 2026.
In the message signed and released today, Comrade Adiuku commended the resilience, professionalism, and unwavering commitment of journalists across the five South East states—Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo—in the discharge of their constitutional duty of informing, educating, and holding power accountable.
He noted that the media remains a critical pillar of democracy and urged practitioners to continue to uphold the ethics of the profession while navigating the evolving challenges of the media landscape.
Excerpts from the Message:
“As we step into this new month, I bring you warm greetings from the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Zone C (South East). October is here—a time for renewal, reflection, and renewed commitment to truth, professionalism, and the collective progress of our beloved region.”
“To our hardworking journalists and media practitioners across Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States: your dedication to truthful reporting, even in the face of challenges, continues to strengthen democracy and hold power to account. This month, may your pens be mighty, your cameras clear, your voices bold, and your safety assured.”
Comrade Adiuku also extended his appreciation to the people of the South East for their continued support of a free and responsible press, calling for strengthened collaboration between the media and the citizenry in the pursuit of transparency, good governance, and regional development.
He concluded with a prayer for peace, prosperity, and unity across the zone, urging all stakeholders to remain hopeful and committed to building a better future for the South East.
