Imo NUJ Welcomes Emelumba on board as Information Commissioner

mo State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) congratulates Mr Declan Emelumba on his appointment and swearing in as Commissioner for Information and Strategy by Imo Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Imo NUJ conveyed the felicitations to Mr Emelumba in a press release issued by the State Chairman, Chief Chris Akaraonye and signed by the Secretary to the Council, Mrs Juliet Dim shortly after the Swearing-in ceremony on 23rd March, 2020.

According to the release, the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Imo State Council commended Emelumba for showing himself approved to the media industry as well as Governor Uzodinma hence his well deserved appointment and urged him to live up to expectations of Imo people.

“NUJ sees your appointment as well deserved considering your track records in the past years as a seasoned journalist in different media houses in Nigeria that you have worked”

“We urge you to continue to live up to expectations in your new assignment as Commissioner for Information and Strategy”

Imo journalists who expressed confidence that the commissioner will bare his wealth of experience in the media on his new assignment to Imo people, pledged to always support and work with him for the betterment of the State.

“As the former Executive Assistant (Media) to former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa, we have no doubt that your tenure will be a successful one”

“While felicitating with you on your appointment, we pledge the unalloyed support of the Council to you in your new assignment”, the council assured.

Imo NUJ called on the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Declan Emelumba to work with the council, carry every journalist in the state along and use his good office to properly enlighten the people and fight against fake news.
