MACAA-FPNO Homecoming Reaches Historic Climax as Alumni Gather to Shape the Future
The Mass Communication Alumni Association of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri (MACAA-FPNO) has entered the most significant stage of its 2026 Homecoming, as alumni members across the country converge for a day of elections, strategic engagement, and discussions aimed at shaping the future of the association.
With the successful conclusion of Day One activities which included a novelty match between the Alumni and Mass Communication students, MACAA-FPNO Homecoming 2026 enters its defining phase as alumni unite for elections, strategic engagement, and a shared vision for the future of the association.
The transition from celebration to leadership and policy discussions marks a pivotal moment in the history of the alumni body.
Day One of the homecoming witnessed vibrant participation in a series of activities designed to foster unity, networking, and renewed commitment among members.
The events provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect, reflect on shared experiences, and reaffirm their dedication to the growth and development of their alma mater.

As proceedings move into the final day, attention is focused on the elective congress, where members will choose a new leadership team to guide the affairs of the association in the coming years.
The elections are expected to usher in a new chapter of service, accountability, and progress while strengthening the association’s role in supporting students, alumni, and the institution.
Beyond the elections, the gathering will provide a platform for meaningful deliberations on key issues affecting the association, including alumni participation, mentorship programmes, scholarship initiatives, institutional development, and strategies for enhancing the impact of MACAA-FPNO within and beyond the academic community.
Stakeholders have described the final day’s programme as a defining moment that will not only determine the leadership direction of the association but also set the tone for its long-term vision and aspirations.
With anticipation running high and participation reaching impressive levels, members remain optimistic that the outcomes of the day’s engagements will further strengthen the bonds among alumni and position the association for greater achievements in the years ahead.
