Imo PDP Indicts Decampees …Says Their Exit Is Of No Relevance To The Party
The news of decamped seven members of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) State Working Committee to the All progressive party (APC) in Imo has trended in the media space for sometime now.

Inasmuch as it is their right to choose the party to belong to, the mode and manner of their exit greatly suggest that they are running away from the atrocities they committed against their former party (PDP).
Investigations from the party leadership revealed that they jumped ship in order to evade indictment over the sum of #1.4 billion they allegedly embezzled.
Further investigations states that the decampees did not win even a vote for the party in their respective polling booths at the last Presidential, National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections due to their nefarious and anti-party activities. The loss of the elections by PDP in Imo State has been traced to the double dealings of the resigned SWC members. It has also been discovered that they pretended to be working for the PDP whereas they actually worked for APC.
It is unfortunate that these supposedly responsible men were only playing politics of selfish interest, highest bidder and stomach infrastructure.
It is now an open secret all over media space in Imo State and beyond that the whopping sum of #45 million (Forty five million naira) was allegedly paid to the former SWC members as an inducement to decamp to APC.
Commenting on the incident, the Governorship candidate of PDP in Imo State, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Samdaddy) pointed out that their exit was not a concern to the party, since they have the right to do so.
Senator Anyanwu, who was cool headed and focused in the guber race stressed that there is “No shaking, Imo PDP is intact.” He said that their exit is a “Good riddance to a bad rubbish”
The Governorship hopeful disclose that PDP has commenced shopping for capable and reliable replacements to the various positions.
In a world press conference the Financial Secretary of Imo PDP, Mr. Bede Ejmmadu told the world that a report implicated the decampees for alleged misappropriation of #1.4 billion earmarked for the party’s 2023 campaign in Imo State.
Mr. Ejmadu said that “They are just trying to run away, but that will not save them as they have no hiding place”
He stated that the report will soon be completed and will be published for public consumption.
The State party Chairman, Engr. Charles Ugwuh said that the exit of the decampees has even made the party more formidable as noting that “The black legs have left the party”
Chief Ugwuh was very optimistic that Samdaddy will clinch the Governorship for Imo State, based on his laudable antecedents as a grassroots politician, a God fearing man, a philanthropist and his methodical approach to issues.
It will be recalled that the following members of the State working committee of PDP defected to APC recently: Martin Ejiogu– Deputy Chairman, Chibuisi Obilo–Vice Chairman, Ray Emeana –Secretary, Collins Opuruzor–Publicity Secretary, Greg Nwadike –Youth Leader, Maria Mbakwe –Woman Leader and Josiah Eze — Treasurer.
The party leadership however emphasised that since the exit of the seven black sheep from the party, the party has been moving forward and stronger, winning more committed and serious members.
Addressing PDP faithful at the occasion, the Former Governor and Chieftain of the party Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha enjoined the members to remain resolute and work honestly for the party.
Ihedioha remarked that the party is bigger than any individual and not owned by any one man hence he assured Imo people that PDP will surely win the governorship election come November 11, this year.
Responding, the party members assured Rt. Hon. Ihedioha of their unflinching support to the party while looking forward to victory in the November 11, 2023 Gubernatorial election in Imo State.
