Imo NUJ lauds Uzodimma on hosting of triennial conference

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Imo State Council has lauded the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma on his acceptance to host the NUJ triennial delegates’ conference taking place on the 26-28 November, 2024.
In a motion moved and adopted by members of the Union during her Congress held last week at the press center, the NUJ Imo State Council appreciated the Governor for his magnanimity and support to the Journalists in the state under the leadership of Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma JP.
The Union called on media professionals in the State to put all hands on deck to ensure a successful outing during the triennial delegates’ conference.
The NUJ chairman, Ifeanyi Nwanguma, JP noted that this is the first time the conference will be taking place in the the state, stressing that there’s need to ensure that the Journalists make the national body proud by making it memorable event.
In the same vein, the Union expressed gratitude to the National leadership of NUJ led by Comrade Chris Isiguzo for chosing Imo State to host the upcoming triennial delegates’ conference.
“The communique commended the leadership of the Council led by Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma for winning the hosting right for the triennial delegates’ conference scheduled for 26-28 November, 2024, in Owerri. It also congratulated Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma for the double awards presented to him during the Congress: ‘Journalism Ambassador’ Award from Department of Journalism and Media Studies Imo State University and Award of Recognition by Imo State University Communication & Media Studies Students ( CAMSSA)”.
Journalists in the state have mourned the death of Mr. Ajibade, Owefoso, the South-East Bureau Chief of Galaxy TV.
“The Congress overwhelmingly applauded a philanthropist, Chief Barr. Success Akagburuonye for the standard borehole with overhead tank he donated to Imo NUJ”.
Sequel to that show of magnanimity and humanity, NUJ, Imo State Council unanimously adopted Barr. Success Akagburuonye as her Patron with the attendant appurtenances and paraphernalia befiting the new status.
“The Congress appealed to the Government to address the ongoing hardship, while calling on legislators and government officials to reach out to their constituents to cushion the effect of the economic hardship biting harder everyday.
