An association of Journalists and media professionals in Imo State under the aegis of Federation of Mbaise Media Professionals (FMMP), has unveiled a list of distinguished nominees for its upcoming Awards of Honour, spotlighting Nigerians whose impact on national development, professional excellence, and community service has been remarkable.

Among those to be honoured are Dr. Benedict Ujoatuonu; Insurance executive, risk management expert, and former Managing Director/CEO of Universal Insurance Plc.

He is also widely respected as a community leader; and Dr. Mark Okhueleigbe; Consultant neurosurgeon, Chairman of the Management Board, and Founder of Mark of Glory Specialist Hospital, Owerri.

Also on the list is Port Harcourt based business man and philanthropist, High Chief Philip Chukwudi Onyenekwe; CEO of Chuks Arthur Dynamics Limited, who will be celebrated for his achievements in supplies, general merchandise, and business development.

Among the expected award recipients is Mr. Oguwike Nwachuku; Chief Press Secretary to Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Oguwike is a seasoned media executive, public relations strategist, and former General Editor of Daily Independent newspaper.

According to FMMP, these honourees, alongside other eminent personalities were carefully chosen for their exceptional leadership, professional accomplishments, and dedication to community growth.

The awards will be formally presented on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Pre-Iriji ceremony and grand reception in honour of Comrade Ezenwa Adiuku, JP, Vice President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zone C (South East).
