Imo Journalist, Eze Adiuku Emerges NUJ Vice President
Imo State based journalist, Comrade Eze Adiuku, has been elected the new Vice President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ for Zone C (South East).
Comrade Adiuku emerged VP through a bye-election at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held Tuesday 12th August, 2025 in Kano State, where the Chairmen and Secretaries from the South East unanimously endorsed him against others for the position owing to his commitment and diligent service in the union over the years.


His emergence has broken age-long jinx in the union, as he is the first Imo journalist in the history of the NUJ to emerge as Vice President.
Comrade Adiuku, an alumnus of the University of Calabar and International Institute of Journalism, had served the NUJ in various capacities.
According to information from the media unit, Office of the Vice President, Zone C, shows that the new Vice President, at the chapel level, had served as Financial Secretary and Secretary at various times.
“He had served as Secretary, Vice Chairman and Chairman for the Forum of Newspaper Editors in Imo State. He also served the NUJ as Chairman, Credentials Committee as well as Exofficio and Assistant Secretary in Imo Council.
“Before his emergence as the new Vice President of NUJ for South East, he was serving his second term as the Zonal Secretary of the zone”, the Media Unit disclosed.
