Imo Guber: YPP Flagbearer Dr. Opara Reiterates Poise To Rewrite Ugly Narratives in Governance …Decries Marginalization Of Owerri Zone
A frontline governorship hopeful and candidate of Young Progressives Party, YPP, in the November 11 guber election in Imo, Dr Kemdi Opara has assured Imo people of his resolve to bring about a responsible and responsive leadership characterized with dividends of democracy when elected as governor.

Dr. Opara made this known as a Guest on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Owerri discussion programme “60 Minutes Live” with Tony Madu on Saturday 7th October 2023 amid commendations for his achievements in society as well as recommendations for the topmost elective post from Imolites.
The YPP guber candidate called on Imolites at home and in diaspora especially people from Owerri Zone to massively vote for him, adding that he is most credible, competent and qualified candidate for the number one seat of power in the state.
Dr Kemdi Opara noted that he has come to genuinely offer visionary leadership as well as good governance to Imolites, while decrying the incumbent government’s loss of sense of duty, poor governance and leadership failure in recent times which have deprived Ndi Imo of their franchise and opportunity to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
He however insisted that a change of leadership in the state is the way forward to liberate Imo people from under-development, insecurity, and unemployment among other worth not narratives that have characterized the state as caused by bad governance over the years.
“A change of leadership in the State with a credible, responsible and competent alternative is Sine qua non to do the magic of setting the State on the progressive and development map”
Dr. Opara further maintained that 75 percent youths & Women shall make up his cabinet so as to have a say in the vision and mission to build quality road network, provide basic social amenities, complete and equip the 27 General Hospitals across the state built by the erstwhile Governor of the State, His Excellency Senator Rochas Okorocha and as well establish a Mother and Child Care hospital in every Local Government area with to ensure Imo women and their newborns have access to quality care at all times.
Dr. Kemdi Chino Opara who also assured the people of the state of his determination to conduct local government elections within six (6) months of assumption of office as governor, and as well grant full administrative and financial autonomy to the council areas, said he will pay in full the State obligations to the 2018 Council Chairmen and Councillors who were removed from office before the expiration of their statutory tenure.
According to a release signed by the Deputy Director, Media and Communications of Kemdi Opara Governorship Campaign Council, Rt. Hon Michael Anyanwu; the Obazu-Mbieri born philanthropist and front-runner Governorship Candidate later proceeded to grace the 5th anniversary celebration of the Egbu Declaration held at the All Saints Cathedral, Egbu in Owerri North LGA where he firmly opposed the continued marginalization and suppression of Owerri zone with predominantly well-read and very intelligent people but yet to be allowed to produce the Governor of Imo State for even a term.
The YPP guber hopeful stressed that “it is repugnant to fairness, equity and Justice for any particular zone to keep producing governor to the detriment of others in the face of an existing 1991 Charter of Equity to rotate power amongst the three Zones” hence urged the people of Owerri zone and Imolites in general to shun political attachments, pecuniary gains of the moment to enable them objectively assess him as the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) as well as his brother candidates of the People’s Democratic Party, Action Democratic Party and the All Progressives Grand Alliance who are from Owerri zone and present at the Egbu Declaration anniversary ceremony to enable them make informed decision to vote for the best with the leadership capacity, competence, integrity and content of character to bring about effective and productive governance for Imo State.
He equally maintained his stand in solidarity with Owerri zone’s demand to produce the next Governor of the State in accordance with the 1991 Charter of Equity in Imo State while commending the Organizers of the event for proving to the World that the zone still has great and respected leaders of thought that mean well for the zone and its people.
