2019 Imo Guber Election: NUJ Monitoring, Updates (1) ||| NEWS CORNER
As the 2019 Governorship and House of Assembly election goes on across the country, the Monitoring Team of Nigerian Union of Journalists, Imo State Council reports the conduct in booths visited in the state.
Reaching polling booth 11 at Umudara Hall, Mgbee, Orlu Local Government Area, Imo, at exactly 9:00am, it was gathered that every material is in place and voting would commence soon.
Arriving Umuokwara Town, Polling Booth 008 in Orlu Local Government Area at 9:22am, the Presiding Officer- Okwunta Jacinta who said all needed for the exercise are complete and in position at the Unit except ink for thumbprinting added that voting would commence as soon as the problem is solved.
She stated that the Card Readers are in good working conditions and ready to effectively accredit the nine hundred (900) registered voters for the polling unit.
Speaking after casting his vote at exactly 10:00am at his home town -Eziama Obaire the governorship candidate of Action Alliance in the state, Chief Uche Nwosu charged Imo electorate to go about their civil responsibilities peacefully.
Chief Nwosu who expressed happiness over the improvement of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in logistics which marred some elections in the past said voting in the area is going on smoothly.
The NUJ Monitoring Team continued the monitoring across the state.
