Imo 2019: Students Begin Prayers for Okey Ezeh

As the 2019 elections draw closer, secondary school students in Imo state have begun prayer sessions for their preferred governorship candidate, Sir Okey Ezeh.

Ezeh, who is the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, was on Wednesday hosted by the students at Ntueke, Ideato South, where the students numbering thousands prayed for his emergence as the next governor of the state come March 2, 2019.

Addressing them, the accomplished investment banker said, “I am in this race because of the misery in Imo State. We cry about our economy. But you have shown that it is not all hopelessness. I cannot fail to pay tribute to those who have shown excellence.”

Speaking further, Ezeh hinted that, “I want to see a state where people like you in the next ten years

will become the leaders of the corporate world. It doesn’t matter how your beginning is. There is nothing young people cannot achieve. Our society has not delivered the promise it should deliver to young people, and this is why we are clamoring for a paradigm shift in leadership.”

He continued “We must look for people with credibility, competence and character to lead. Leadership is so serious that it cannot be left in the hands of charlatans,” Ezeh insisted.

He also explained that his commitment to young people is to work and ensure that the generation coming after him will be more prosperous than his own generation.

Ezeh lamented that it is a very wrong approach for government to starve missionary schools of funding. “If you fund education, you are funding the future,” he said.
