Ikenga Imo has Failed Ideato Nation As Legislator–CUPP laments
By Onyinyechi Nwankwo…

With deep sense of regret, the leadership of Conference of United Progressive People, CUPP, Ideato Local government area branch of Imo State has lamented over what it called wasted one year of representation, even as it declared that Ideato Federal Constituency Legislator, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochunyere has failed the people woefully.
The group through its Spokesperson, Nze Dr.Vitus Modesty Ezenwa, (Akwakwuru Umuobom) made the declaration while addressing Journalists on Friday, at the enlarge meeting of CUPP held at Late Chief Collins Obi Council Chambers, Dikenafai, Ideato.

Ezenwa who explained that CUPP is a group made up of people who are progressively minded, with passion for the growth, development and peace of their Constituency with members drawn from religious, political, economic and social sectors, also being supported by traditional rulers, noted that the core objective of the group is to ensure that the electorates get transparent, accountable and fair leadership.
He regretted that one year of Ikenga at the National Assembly is a monumental waste, a full year of prodigality, cosmetic and entertaining, frivolous jamboree, also alleged that the National Assembly lawmaker since his inauguration has never done anything noteworthy for the Federal Constituency.
Ezenwa said since Ikenga was voted into office he has not attracted any tangible or meaningful project in Ideato Federal Constituency as erosion and bad road are still nightmares therein, adding he is rather busy chasing shadows, instigating trouble here and there, breeding enmity for the Constituency, tarnishing its image, as well as overlooking the pressing needs of the people.
CUPP Spokesperson maintained that Ideato Federal Constituency representative has seriously overlooked his legislative duty, and has stopped paying attention to the needs of his people which he was doing well as an Activist but now has abandoned and disappointed the poor, voiceless and everyone who believed in him to do even better as a legislator.
He observed with total dismay that the legislator does not have a Constituency Office nor has held Constituency Briefing since his One Year stay at the of House of Representatives, describing such as an anomaly and a neglect, advising him to go back to activism that he is mastery at, which also gave him leeway and relevance to politics
The group also accused the lawmaker of ignoring and sidelining the people in terms of contract awards and employment, frowning that he chose a non-Ideato indigene as his Senior Legislative Aide, positing that in the past Ideato indigenes occupied such a big position, describing Ikenga Imo as being self-righteous, who is not worthy to be called their Federal lawmaker.
“We drew your attention to the 2024 Appropriation Bill where you described Ideato Nation as an area occupied and devastated by militants. We accused you of giving Ideato Nation a bad name in order to scoop more funds for yourself. We demanded for the identities of the schools, markets and bridges you claimed that were destroyed by militants in Ideato Nation. We accused you of tarnishing the image of of Ideato Nation in your bid to get more money for yourself” the group alleged.
“We urge you to stop shying away from the erosion menace and deplorable road in the Constituency, get to work and stop wasting our resources, creating trouble for us, giving us bad image before the world that is watching you and making jest of your actions and inactions” CUPP warned.
