Covid-19: IDFP Set to Distribute Sanitary Palliatives to 10 States

A religious organization, known as Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace, IDFP, is set to distribute sanitary palliatives and incentives to ten States in the country.

This, according to IDFP, is aimed at helping vulnerable persons stay safe and healthy from Coronavirus Pandemic which it frowned debilitates the world.

Speaking to journalists in Owerri, on Monday, the IDFP Covid-19 Palliative Committee Chairman, HRH, Eze Dr Abdul Fatai Chimaeze Metuma (iii) of Umuofor Ancient Kingdom, Oguta local government area of Imo State, stated that ten States in the federation will benefit from the Sanitary Palliatives to be distributed from 1st July, 2020.

He said the palliatives is estimated at half a million naira.

Eze Metuma, who is also a Member, Board of Trustees, IDFP, noted that the interreligious body is bent to extend love to people especially the less-privileged so that lives can be saved from the Wuhan Virus (Covid-19).

He reflected that “IDFP is a national interfaith and intercultural dialogue forum that has the peaceful coexistence of adherents of all government’s recognized religions and ethnic groups

in Nigeria as its central objective. The establishment of IDFP in February, 2016, was funded and facilitated by KAICCIID Dialogue Centre, Vienna in partnership and collaboration with Interfaith Mediation Centre and Kukah Center”.

Also, Eze Metuma, noted that “IDFP is focused on interfaith activities and interreligious awareness, dialogue and understanding for the two dominant faiths in Nigeria: Christianity and Islam”, saying IDFP is a forum where discussions and questions are allowed for mutual understanding on the beliefs and practices of people’s faiths.

Eze Metuma hinted that Coronavirus has united the World so that tribalism is jettisoned in the fight against the chronic virus, encouraging people to use dialogue to settle issues rather than violence.

“With love and peace development is assured among divers entities and religious bodies. IDFP is focused to serve God through service to humanity and to strengthen love, peace and tolerance among religious bodies. If you want to make peace among religious organizations you must establish understanding”, the King stressed.

While mentioning that the Committee members for the Palliatives as HRH, Eze Dr Abdul Fatai Chimaeze Metuma (Chairman), Hajia Rikia Mukiro, Bishop Sam Onuoha and Senior Apostle T. Okpala, Eze Metuma promised they will meet with the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma including the Imo State Covid- 19 on courtesy, advising people to keep to safety measures to live safely and healthily.
