Fathers Day: Two Prominent Imo Journalists, Adiuku, Nwanguma Honoured With Prestigious Awards
ThankGod Emeh.
As the world marks Fathers Day on June 19, St. Stephen’s Anglican Chapel, IBC road Orji, Diocese of Owerri, Imo state celebrates in grand style, while awarding two notable Imo journalists among other promising awardees.
The reverred journalists, Comrade Eze Adiuku who doubles as the Zonal Secretary of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ South East Zone and the financial Secretary of Imo NUJ, Comrade Ifeanyi Nwanguma who were honoured with the “Noble Christian Father” awards respectively are said to be great pillar and partner of the church given their selfless services to God and humanity.
Evangelist Onyinyechi Emenyonu while delivering the Sermon at the occasion, charged men to lead family lives worthy of emulation so as to raise Godly children as well as good ambassadors in society.
Evang. Emenyonu called on the men to retain their kingship in the family as not just the head of the house but by making use of their heads and the sensitive parts that make them up to see and hear both spiritually and physically among other roles.
They were also urged to always reconcile and be at peace with their partners in order not to overheat and break the foundations of their union which has ripple effects on the family, especially the children who are looking keenly to take after them in the larger world.
The church teacher tasked parents to always checkmate the companies and activities of their children and wards while frowning at the way and manner some parents pressurize their children to contribute to expenses of the family in order not to push them into doing evil.
Evang Emenyonu while presenting the awards to the recipients; Adiuku and Nwanguma, emphasized that the awards shows the level of appreciation from St. Stephen’s Anglican Chapel noting that “to whom much is given; more is expected of”
He called on the duo to keep up their good works in society, as the world looks onto them for good examples and prayed God to see them through.
Receiving the awards respectively, Eze Adiuku and Ifeanyi Nwanguma expressed appreciation to the chapel for honouring them on a special day celebrated world over and prayed God to honour them in due time.
They promised to remain their best at all they do especially in discharging their duties as well as offering their social responsibility to society as members of the fourth estate of the realm.
Comrade Nwanguma dedicated the award to his family, the church as well as the management of Starpost Newspapers for their support that have spurred him to greater heights.
“This award of honour will be a starting point and portion of all and sundry in the church “, he said.
Comrade Adiuku added that he dedicated the award to his father, Pa A.C. Adiuku (KSC) for the knowledge he impacted in him and his siblings, that has enabled him to be the man and father he has become.
