Eyes On Democracy of Nigeria (EDON) Seriously Making Inroads to South East to Entrench Ideal Democratic Values

A good governance, democratic and advocacy group, Eyes on Democracy of Nigeria, EDON says it is making serious plans to launch its presence and activities across South East region of the country.

The National Secretary and South East coordinator of EDON, Comrade Ifeanyi Obute, and South East coordinators in a release said the development and arrangement is to give South Easterners a sense of belonging in the scheme of things as regards good governance which the group roundly fights for.

According the the release, "NOTICE! NOTICE!! NOTICE!!!. The above named Civil Society Organization, which had been acutely missing in South East’s political space, is finally here.”

Comrade Obute said “EDON had been actively engaged in legislative advocacy since the year 2000 and it is currently waxing very strongly in the North”

They further emphasized the mission, vision, goal and core values of EDON while calling on youths in South East region of the country to embrace and join the organisation for actualization of youthful leadership, good governance among others.

“MISSION: Positive YOUTHS leadership for proper entrenchment of the authentic ideals of Democracy.
VISION: To promote and foster harmony amongst the Nigerian Youths for a better national growth.
GOAL: To galvanize the Nigerian youths towards deepening of sustainable development via democratic means.
CORE VALUES: Integrity, Accountability, Diligence, Honesty and Good governance”

Comrade Obute added that “EDON is in South East to further its noble cause of deepening of Democratic ideals through the robust and energetic involvement of the youths, in a legitimate way; for the South Eastern Youths and women have been neglected for long in the political scheme of things”

“We are soliciting for SUPPORT, ADVICE, COLLABORATIONS, PARTNERSHIPS etc. But most importantly, we are encouraging all Igbo Youths, especially the ladies to join up, FOR WE CAME WITH AN ALREADY PREDETERMINED WOMEN POLITICAL EMPOWERMENT PROJECTS”

“WE ARE SENSITIZING THE PEOPLE, AND ALSO ENCOURAGING OUR YOUTHS TO APPROACH THE STATE COORDINATORS AND REGISTER AS FULL FLEDGED MEMBERS WITH A TOKEN OF #500.00.”
