Convocation: IMSU is World Class University –VC

The Vice Chancellor of Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri, Prof. Uchefula Ugonna Chukwumaeze, says the institution is a World Class University given to its quality academics including the caliber of manpower therein.

He stated this in his address during the 8th Convocation Ceremony of the university held last week at the Convocation Pavilion of the University.

He said the university will continue to intensify effort while partnering with state government to strengthen quality education in the school.

He congratulated the graduating students for achieving academic excellence, urging them to contribute meaningfully to the peace and progress of the society.

Although the Vice Chancellor pointed out that the varsity is in urgent need of hostel accommodation to ensure comfort and security of the students, as well as reduce the burden exorbitant house rent which he regretted had over the years debilitated poor students.

He indulged government to continue to ensure that Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) to continuously upgrade infrastructures in the school to strengthen academic excellence, calling on Imo Stars to contribute to the development of the university.

However, one of the Honorary Doctorate Degree recipients, Chief Chika Emenike (NPOM). said he will always contribute to the development of the society. He thanked the university for the academic award.
