Comrade Destiny Udodiri Akunesi was born on 6th June,1973 to the family of Late Mr Sunday Akunesi & Mrs Regina Nwakaego Akunesi of Umuololo Eziome Mbieri in Mbaitoli Local Government Area Imo state.
He had his primary education at Samuel Njemanze Memorial Primary School Owerri where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1984 .
While in Primary School he was made the Deputy School Captain because of his excellent academic performance.
Destiny attended Government Secondary School Owerri from 1984-1990. While in Government Secondary School Owerri he was among those who were always in A class.
His intelligence, discipline and passion to read books made him to be appointed as the School Library Prefect. He was the best student in Igbo Language and Commerce. He was among the top 10 in his Senior School Certificate Examination as he made 5 Alphas and 3 Credits.
Comrade Akunesi aka Akpo aza na data had his tertiary education at Institute of Management & Technology (IMT)Enugu where he obtained HND ( upper credit) in Mass Communication with flair for news writing and Public Relations.
While at IMT Enugu he served as Hostel Secretary and pioneer Secretary of Communicators Art Forum and was a member of Rotaract Club.
During his National Youth Service at Uyo Akwa Ibom state he received the Award of Ichie Onye Ihe oma na adi mma ( one who is delighted in good things) from Igbo corp members and was elected the Secretary of NYSC Road Safety Club.
On completion of Youth Service in 1998, he relocated to Lagos to seek for job.
He has good working experience in Insurance, Marketing, Banking, Customer Services, Office Administration and Public Relations.
While in banking at United Bank for Africa ( UBA) he was always winning the best Staff of the Year Award of his branch then at UBA Nwaorieubi in Mbaitoli Local Government Area Imo state.
After his resignation from bank UBA Wetheral road in 2011,he decided to start his own business and practice what he studied in school which is Mass Communication.
Comrade Destiny Udodiri Akunesi is the owner of Divine Praise Communication that is into Data Subscription, Cable Subscription, Airtime, Radio & Newspapers announcements and adverts, change of name publications and event management.
He is the Chairman of Starpost Express Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Imo state Council and writes for Starpost Express Newspaper.
He is the Public Relations Officer of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Imo state Chapter.
He has other leadership positions which include:
2nd Assistant National Secretary Old Boys Association Government Secondary School Owerri,
Chairman Imo state Chapter Institute of Management & Technology (IMT) Enugu Alumni Association,
Chairman Parents Teachers Association Chimex International Academy Orji, Owerri North LGA,
Church Secretary Assemblies of God Church Orji 2 in Owerri East District,
Zonal Coordinator of his class set Mass Communication Alumni IMT Enugu .
He was also the Pioneer Secretary of 1984 set of Old Boys Association Government Secondary School Owerri.

Commitment to Excellence and Humanitarian Service Award from Uzinomi Development Union Abuja branch
Award of Recognition from National Blood Transfusion Commission for being among top volunteer blood donors.
Destiny Udodiri Akunesi formed the platform that brought his classmates at Government Secondary School Owerri together and now is a very vibrant association.
He also created the platform that brought his coursemates at IMT together.
It was for this reason that his classmates and coursemates gave him special awards.
Destiny is an active member of Owerri branch of Old Boys Association Government Secondary School Owerri, active member of Peoples Assembly International.
He has served in various committees of his church, Old Boys Association and Nigeria Union of Journalists and they include:

He is a man that is synonymous with Humility, Kindness and Integrity.
He once received alert of 3.6 million naira wrongly paid into his First bank account when working as a Manager at a Filling station in Port Harcourt .He reported the matter to the bank and the owner one Mr Augustine Inyiakulum was traced and the money was refunded to him.
He was only appreciated with Three thousand naira from the man.
His kindness to humanity made him to be a volunteer blood donor as his own way of contributing to humanity. Anytime his is due for blood donation he responds to calls for blood donation and collects no money.
While many are using their blood for rituals, he uses his own to save life.
No wonder he has received several certificates of appreciation and gifts from National Blood Transfusion Commission.
His hobbies are: reading, writing, making friends, traveling, cooking, football, scrabble
He is happily married to a beautiful wife and the marriage is blessed with three lovely children.
His motto is : Live and let live, Do unto others as you would like them do unto you.
He believes in celebrating the living than the dead.
This Thursday 6th June, 2024 is his birthday and he is grateful to God for His love,protection, provision and goodness and mercy.
