By Eleugu Mgbemgasa…
The 10th Imo State House of Assembly has been advised to legislate in line with the mandate of the people and in extension for the interest of Imo State to move forward.
This piece of advise was given by the APC National Vice Chairman, South East, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, in an interaction with journalists during the official Swearing- in Ceremony of the 10th Imo Assembly Members held on Friday at the Assembly Complex in Owerri.
Arodiogbu maintained that when there is a water- tight cordiality and relationship among the Legislature and the Executive Organs of government viable policies, programs and activities would be initiated and implemented for the advancement of the state and goodness, peace, joy and comfort of the citizens.
He was emphatic that the Shared Prosperity led administration championed by Governor Hope Uzodimma has performed excellently especially on solid road construction, rehabilitation, youth empowerment and security given to his robust cooperation with Judiciary and Legislature in the state.
He opined that “the legislature is the arm that defines and differentiates the democratic system of government from other forms of government. While the military and other forms of government have the executive and judiciary, democratic system of government is legislative arm that makes laws. It hence behoves on the legislators to make democracy work in the state”,
Arodiogbu who expressed gladness and satisfaction over the good leadership the Governor Hope Uzodimma led 3R administration demonstrates in Imo State, told the newly inaugurated Members of the 10th Imo Assembly to keep faith as they legislate favourable laws that can improve development, peace, progress and security in the state.
He called on all good people of Imo State who love and appreciate common existence, progress, social progress and economic prosperity to continue to have faith in the present government as they contribute to the reelection bid of Governor Hope Uzodimma for continued good governance.
