Amakohia Family Association Owerri Branch Celebrates End of Year Party in Grand Style

It was a celebration galore at Owerri City School on Sunday December 4, 2022 as the Amakohia Family Association (Owerri Branch) of Ihitte Uboma local government area of Imo state gathered in Thanksgiving to God Almighty, appraisal of members and celebration of the family’s End of Year programme.
The occasion which featured award presentation, the ‘Okonko Masquerade’ dance of the area, awareness parade and welcome song by Divine Children among other side attractions had prominent and illustrious sons and daughters of the Community in attendance.


The Chairman of Amakohia Family Association, Ihitte Uboma local government, Chief Ambrose Onuoha while addressing newsmen at the the occasion emphasized that the people of Amakohia Community are ever loving, peaceful, and with a unity of purpose in all their activities.

Chief Onuoha stated that the Association has come to stay after clocking more than twenty (22)years successfully with achievements hence the high profile programme to return Thanks to God Almighty for His enablement.




He said, “Amakohia has come a long way and We needed to thank God; to show our gratefulness because Amakohia is one of the most peaceful communities you can find in Imo state”
The chairman expressed happiness over the support by his people and called on the people of Amakohia that have not registered to join the Family Association as well as continue living in unity as they are known for and promised to always support the good course of the Association as well as Community at large.

The Sole Administrator of Ihitte Uboma local government area, who doubled as the Chairman of the occasion, Barrister Uche Konkwo commended the members and organizing Committee for putting up a classic event of such importance adding that all their efforts shall not be in vain.

Barrister Konwo prayed for the progress of the members as well as the Family Association.
The SOLAD equally thanked the state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for appointing him the Sole Administrator of Ihitte Uboma local government and giving him free hands to work for the people.

He was grateful to the Governor for appointing sons and daughters of Ihitte Uboma into his administration and as well for his infrastructural and developmental strides in the local government area as evidenced in erecting new buildings, road maintenance and purchase of sanitation machines for the council.
The Traditional Prime Minister of Amakohia Community, Ihitte Uboma, Chief Jerry Nwoko enjoined the Family Association members to sustain the tempo of the objectives and virtues of the Association adding that togetherness pays more for development.


Chief Nwoko charged the members to always contribute their quota to ensure that the objectives of the Family Association is achieved.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Organising Committee, Comrade Ogenna Chukwu and the Committee Cordinator, Comrade Chidiadi Ibe expressed appreciation to God for His mercies throughout the year and as well thanked all and sundry for gracing the occasion.
They advised indigenes of Amakohia Community yet to join the Family Association to do the needful and join them as soon as possible adding that together, the Community shall stand out tall and strong in the state affair as it is poised to fight for the rights and welfare of the Amakohia, Ihitte Uboma people in the state and beyond.



The Amakohia Family Association Ihitte Uboma have been recorded over the years to have come to the aid of its bonafide members.
Earlier, the association held a Thanksgiving service at St. Matthew Catholic church, MCC road to thank God for his grace and protection of the members throughout the year.

Dignitaries that witnessed the event includes Hon. Chike Okafor, member representing Okigwe South in federal House of representatives, Barr. Uche Konkwo, SOLAD, Ihitte Uboma local government, rtd ACP and now the chief security officer of Imo State University of Agriculture and environmental sciences, Chief Chris Akaraonye, immediate past chairman of Nigeria Union of journalists Imo State Council, Hon Onyemechi Njoku, member representing Ihitte Uboma State Constituency in the Imo State House of assembly and a host of others.
