Chief Osita Nwaneri @ 84: A Living Proof of A Principled Humanist —Okewulonu

With a heart full of gratitude, I,Chief Chris Okewulonu (Ebekuodike),former Secretary to the Government of Imo State (SGI) join family, friends, and well-wishers across Imo State and beyond to celebrate a rare patriarch, an icon of service, and a father in every sense of the word, Chief Osita Nwaneri, on the occasion of his 84th birthday anniversary.

Daddy, at 84, you stand as a living proof that a life given to people will never be forgotten. You have worn many robes with distinction: politician of principle, administrator of uncommon discipline, and humanist,whose doors have always been open to the weak, the young, and the struggling.

As a politician, you taught us that leadership is stewardship, not self-interest. Your counsel has always been: serve first, speak last, and let your works answer for you. As an administrator, you brought order where there was confusion, and you built institutions that outlasted tenures because you built them on character. As a humanist, you reminded us that titles mean nothing if they do not translate to food on a table, school fees paid, a hospital bill settled, or a young person given a chance.

To me, you are more than a father-in-law. You are a compass. Marrying into your family connected me not just to a home in Obowo but to a school of values. From you, I have learned patience in crisis, generosity without announcement, and faith that endures through every season. You corrected me when I needed correction, you prayed with me when I needed strength, and you celebrated me when I had every reason to be humble.

Your 84 years are 84 chapters of sacrifice. You have seen governments come and go, yet your name remains associated with integrity. You have birthed hope for many. You have been a bridge between generations, settling disputes with wisdom, and lifting communities with quiet philanthropy that never sought applause.

As you celebrate your 84th birthday as an octogenarian, I thank God for the gift of your life. I thank Him for the health He has preserved, for the clarity He has given your mind, and for the joy that still lights your face when children gather around you.

Daddy, may your new age be clothed in divine health, peace, and long life. May your name continue to be spoken with honour. May the seeds of goodness you planted continue to yield harvests in your children, grandchildren, and in all of us who call you father.
