OACCMO Celebration Day: Archbishop Lucius Ugorji Urges Fathers to Give Their Children Christian Education

Christian Father’s have been enjoined to train their children to be a useful tool in the society ensuring that they are given a christian education.

The Archbishop of Owerri Catholic Diocese, His Grace Lucius Ugorji gave this advice during the 2026 owerri Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Men Organization celebration day held at Assumpta Cathedral Owerri.

While delivering his homely, he pointed that father’s have a vital role to play in their children upbringing as the head of the family.

According to him, “a christian family is regarded as domestic church where the wife and husband exchange marital vows, part of responsibility of father is the ability to accept children as a gift from God and being able to give them christian education. grooming a child takes place in the family, church and school, it requires dedication, commitment and sacrifices to train a child, as father’s we must strive to live above the challenges.

“OACCMO celebration is a sacred occasion, is a day we remember the services and sacrifices of our christian father’s as we well encourage them accordingly, therefore I commend the awardees and executive of President Ambassador OACCMO for their efforts in making this year celebration a success, praying that God will continue to bless our christian father’s with strength wisdom and knowledge to carry out duties in their respective families.

The President of OACCMO, Mr Kelechi Ekeh in speech applauded the Ezinna and Ezinna award recipients urging them to use their status to be good Ambassadors of Christ and the church.

He also described the organization as a large family built with love and unity of purpose with helping the society through outreach, empowerment, sensitization and community service.
