Investigate Case Of Organ Sale In Anambra Throughly –Group Tell IGP
Princess-Ekwi Ajide Abuja…

Members of Active Women For Change Foundation, AWIF, have called on the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, to ensure a painstaking investigation of the alleged sale of organ by men of the Nigerian police in Awkuzu.

The woman led group which has its headquarters in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, speaking through its Chairperson, Lady Nonye Ezeaka, said the call became necessary as it also involves a woman, Nkeiruka Nwode, who had been fingered as one of the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
According to Lady Nonye, it is not always that we see notable Police women use their office for positive change as she has done in recent time.

She added that it has also become necessary to investigate the activities of police officers in Awkuzu so as to save our children and husbands from becoming victims of such dastardly acts.

The group stressed that the Youth Corper who the Police said works with them should also be investigated so that the real truth is exposed and no innocent person is punished unjustly.
AWIF however noted that Awkuzu SARS, has always been in the news for the wrong reasons and this is the right time to really look inwards and bring the perpetrators to book.

The Women rights activists call on the IGP to timeously intervene in the matter to apprehend the culprits, forestall pending evil transactions as well as save the people of the area and Anambra state in general.

“We call on the Inspector-General of Police to ensure the wrong doings of the police are not swept under the carpet this time around as this is a matter of life and death”
“He must not allow the perpetrators of these crimes on Awkuzu Soil go scout free for it will be a crime against humanity”
