Why & How Okey Ezeh created 800 Millionaires in a day
By Collins Opurozor.
In this part of the world, it is fashionable for those seeking political offices to assume the toga of emergency philanthropists. It is even more worrisome for serial treasury looters to be celebrated when they sprinkle less than a tithe of their loots on the people, the very victims of their thievery.
However, the case of a steady and consistent trail-blazing in giving back to society what is genuinely acquired through hard work and creativity is rare and should be celebrated when found.

The Imo State SDP Governorship Candidate, Okey Ezeh, is refreshingly outstanding in this regard. For Okey Ezeh, philanthropy has been a second nature, an article of faith. Discussions about Okey Ezeh have lately revolved around his wonderful vision for Imo State and commitment to reinventing her economy, his sincerity in navigating through the complicated maze of Nigerian politics and his simplicity and collegiality in relating with everyone. Very little attention has been paid to the fact that the devout Catholic who is the National Patron of the Purgatorian Society of Nigeria has set unbeatable standards in philanthropy and has remained consistent in doing so since his early thirties.

On a single day, precisely on Thursday December 29, 2011, years before he ever thought of politics, Okey Ezeh created 800 entrepreneurs whom he single-handedly recruited, trained, certified and equipped to become business owners. On the same day, an ultra-modern 6-classroom block with 5-toilet facilities built and donated by him was commissioned at Town School Obohia Imo State.

Ezeh also shortly afterwards quietly built and handed over the Priests’ and Seminarians’ Quarters at the Christ The King Catholic (CKC) Parish Umuhuocha in Ahiara Diocese.
Let’s build an Imo of Pedigree not Perfidy! Let’s vote SDP! #OkeyIsOkay!
