Ugorji Gets OCCIMA Award Amidst Jubilation

A community leader and Mbieri born philanthropist, Hon, Collins Ugorji has bagged ‘Outstanding Politician Of The Year award’ amidst jubilation in Imo.

The event which held at Rockview Hotel Owerri last week, witnessed the presence of friends, family members, political leaders, Mbaitoli LGA sons and daughters who came to celebrate with him.

Speaking to Journalists shortly after the event, Hon. Collins Ugorji thanked Owerri Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture ( OCCIMA) for finding him worthy to be honored.

He disclosed that as a community leader, and politician who has the interest of his people at heart and as well believes in human development; the award will stir him to engage more unemployed young people in Mbaitoli and Imo State at large positively.

Ugorji stressed out he never expected the award bestowed on him from OCCIMA, revealing that the development shows whatever one is doing in life people are watching, hence described it as “well deserved” even as he promised to partner with them in order to achieve success and appreciated Mbaitoli people for their support.

Also speaking, in their separate speeches Rev. Prof. Eke Kenneth Obinna who received ‘Pillar Of Academic Excellence award’, and Amb. Akpelu Azunna, PhD, who received ‘Icon Of Unity, Progress And Peace In Igbo Land award’, expressed happiness for the recognition been conferred on them by OCCIMA.

They noted that whom much is given much is expected, as they reiterated their commitment towards humanity and the development of education, peace and unity in Igbo land.
