Uche Ben Odunzeh Movement (UBOM) Inaugurate LGA Officers in Orlu Zone
Uche Ben Odunzeh Movement (UBOM) on Saturday in Owerri, Imo State capital inaugurated its LGA’s and Ward Volunteers with empowerment of over 30 Widows and numerous youths of Imo indigenes.
In declaring the program open, the founder of the non governmental organization (NGO), High Chief Uche Ben Odunzeh reiterated the commitment of the group towards empowerment, civic education and capacity building of rural women, widows and youths to advance the socio-economic development of the populace at the grassroots.
Chief Odunzeh, against this background, explained that UBOM Initiative came up divinely to address poverty and alieviate the plight of very poor people suffering amongst us.
He went further to explain that the Movement will deploy practical ways of addressing and empowering the citizens in Orlu zone as well as other Local Government areas of the state, void of political inclination before, during, and after the general election.
“We are non political, but in total support of good governance and adequate representation of our zone in government” he remarked.
Chief Odunzeh said the official launching is expected to facilitate the opportunity for a reach out to the grassroots, the nooks and crannies of the State, to sharpen the existing groundworks of the Volunteer Groups component by launching what will help concretize a post-meeting strategic plan that will mobilize Orlu citizens and it’s leadership to course correctly the struggling democracy in Imo State and ultimately, Nigeria.
He opined that women and youths empowerment has become the hallmark venture of the association, and is impacting knowledge and skills within and outside our bases to encourage self-reliance among the weak and less privileged in our society.

The Orlu born business mogul reaffirms that the event would get another great milestone in the future, as series of programs have been lined up and achievements recorded by UBOM in recent times going by what we have in plan for the grassroots would be monumental.
In commending the initiative, Evangelist Mike Ikokwu who represented, Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu, National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP commended the efforts of the founder, describing him as humble, human-hearted person, compassionate and supportive of the needy in our midst.
He noted that the fit would challenge most successful people in the society to emulate.
According to him, UBOM’s initiative will be gearing for bigger achievements in the future and therefore urged the organizers to do everything within its power to keep the noble efforts alive to make life more bearable to the populace.
Ikokwu urged UBOM not to rest on its oars but to continue to add value to humanity, as he commended the chief host of the programme and his team of Volunteers for their timeless effort in making the entire programme a great success.
The highlight of the day was the presentation of working capital to the selected widows from the the LGAs. The administering of oath of allegiance to the LGA Officers who were charged to be good ambassadors of the movement at the grassroots.
The event also witnessed the unveiling of official aprons and caps of the association with great fun fare and pagentry.
The occasion was well attended and attracted very important dignitaries across the State and beyond.
