Talent Hunt: Group to hold Singing Competition for Students in Imo ||| NEWS CORNER

Group, Imo Sings Association, says it has concluded arrangements to hold Singing Competition for Secondary Schools Students in Imo State by January, 2020.
This is aimed at fishing out talented musicians among teenagers and empowering them permanently to secure their future.
Imo Sings Association which spoke to journalists recently through Chief Humphrey Acho, Chief Executive Officer, Macyview Hotels and Project Manager, Sir Jeo Ugonna, Proprietor, Onic Entertainment, Mr Uche Bonnylife- Ndu, Convener, Imo State in Diaspora, Mr Valentine Okorie, President, Vals Systems and Donald Iheonunekwu, highlighted that Imo Sings 2020 is a concept articulated by Imo Sings Association to encourage young talented musicians of Imo origin to freely showcase their artistic ingenuity in order to be helped to calve a niche for themselves, as victorious participants would be sponsored to school in Canada, as well signed a musical label with Onic Entertainment and others.
The group hinted that the competition revolves around Ten Secondary Schools in Imo State from where each teenager would be selected after Audition which starts by January 2020 at Bongo Square, Owerri with the main show holding tentatively on 14th February 2020 at Imo State Government House Chapel, Owerri.
It maintained that Judges would be rolled over during Audition because Judges for Audition and Final Stage of the Musical Show are not going to be the same people to avoid favouritism.
While 1st winner gets prizes of Band Set and #200,000, 2nd will get 1500,000 and 3rd winner goes home with #100,000 with other participants getting Consolation Prizes.
The Show which is styled “Imo Secondary Schools will musically compete on one Stage”, however urges musically talented teenagers in Secondary Schools in Imo State to avail themselves of the opportunity to showcase their singing mettle to advance better living.
The Imo Sings Association while thanking Imo State Government championed by Governor Emeka Ihedioha for creating enabling environment for investment, appealed to the Governor to continue to support youths to use their talent positively to advance their fortune while improving better society.
Notably, Imo Sings Association is a group of professionals of Imo natives who came together with the ideology of mentoring, spurring, lifting and encouraging youths on productivity and proficiency to beat poverty, vulnerability and intimidation.
