Safe Environment Encourages Investment, Improves Economy, says Hotelier
Ikenna Orioha.

A hotelier with REGISGATE Hotel, Owerri, Okoli Anthony Uchenna, has appealed to the residents of Owerri Urban to ensure that they join hands to reduce or curb crime so that investment will be encouraged in the area.
Okoli Anthony Uchenna who is the General Manager of REGISGATE Hotel and Secretary-General, Hoteliers Association of Imo State, added that peaceful environment encourages investment, because investors love to operate at a peaceful and safe environment where their business will grow without any hindrance.
Okoli stated this during an interview with journalists shortly after a meeting involving security agencies, traditional rulers and hoteliers organized by the Interim Chairman of Owerri Municipal Council, held at the council headquarters, Owerri, on Wednesday. Describing the security meeting as a welcome development that will immensely add to the Rebuilding Imo Agenda of the current administration, Okoli advocated that all hands be on deck in order to stamp out the menace of insecurity bedeviling the society.

General Manager of REGISGATE Hotel and Secretary- General, Hoteliers Association of Imo State. Okoli Anthony UchennaAccording to him, "the meeting is a welcome development because security is every person's business hence all hands must be on deck to curb or reduce crime which fuels insecurity.
Creating enabling environment is relevant as investors like operating at a peaceful and crime-free environment. Imo is witnessing peace not minding some pocket violence being experienced in recent time. We commend government and security agencies over their commitment to maintain peace and orderliness in the State. Also, let youths who indulge in vice repent and work hard to live comfortably for crime does not pay well".
