Owerri Zone ‘II reclaim Douglas House in 2024 –Emma Nwaogu

The former federal Commissioner, National Population Commission, Imo State, Chief Emma Nwaogu, says Owerri Zone will fight collectively and effectively to reclaim Imo Governorship Seat in 2024.
He gave the assurance while answering questions from journalists during the Coalition for Owerri Reawakening 3rd Anniversary of Egbu Declaration, held at the Mayfair Hotel, Egbu, Owerr.
Nwaogu, who was Commissioner during Emeka Iheduoha regime, noted that Owerri Zone worked hard, suffered and fought to democratically elect an Owerri Zone person, Emeka Ihedioha, as governor of Imo State in 2019, but the Supreme Court removed him and installed Uzodimma who came fourth in the election, alleging that “something was manipulated somewhere” because “what is wrong is wrong”.
Nwaogu, who is a revered indigene of Ngor-Okpala, maintained that “it was a fact that Emeka Ihedioha was democratically elected as governor of Imo State in 2019, but the Supreme Court removed him and installed Uzodimma who came fourth in the election. Fact is fact. It is only in politics that people maneuver truth. For this, we will fight collectively and actively again to ensure that Owerri Zone regains its stolen power in Douglas House in 2023 or 2024”.
The active stakeholder in Imo politics did not mince his words as he encouraged Owerri Zone to keep faith alive, strive to collectively and effectively give their mandate to an Owerri Zone politician in the next Imo Governorship election with the full support of positive thinking individuals, friends and sympathizers of Owerri Zone from Orlu and Okigwe Zones.
Nwaogu, while hailing the organizers of the summit, described the former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, as a refined politician, who is committed to rebuild Imo State for the good of all persons and to the glory of God.
The conference, which saw people from different political parties, supporters and sympathizers of Owerri Zone, journalists and erudite politicians participating, has “Whiter The Tripod” as its theme.
