The maiden Home Coming celebration of Old Students Association of St. Augustine’s Secondary School, Obizi in Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA will gather on December 31st 2024 for a historic Home Coming ceremony.

Speaking to Newsmen in Owerri, the National President of the Alumni Association, St. Augustine’s Old Students Association (SOASA), Sir Dr. Marcelinus Azubuike noted that the event will mark the first ever gathering of all the Sets of the school starting from 1963 that the school started.
He pointed out that the maiden Home Coming will reunite members of the alumni and rekindle fond memories, adding that the event will afford old students to celebrate the school’s achievements and milestones, foster a sense of camaraderie amongst the old and studying students.

Azubuike called on all well meaning individuals who passed through the school to avail themselves of the date for the knitting of togetherness and sharing of ideas that will form the bedrock for development of individual members of the Alumni and the Alma Mater.
He appreciated the different Sets of the school for their support and contributions to the school, stressing that they are not taken for granted while calling on other Sets to leave a legacy for the school and students to benefit.
He stated that the school which has moved from All Saints Institute of Commerce, St. Augustine’s Commercial and today known as St. Augustine’s Secondary School has churned out excellent and wonderful students that are making impact in their various chosen careers and professions.
“If our Alma Mater founded by late Rev. A. C. Njoku in 1963 is not what we want it to be, we can step in and step up the development of the school by turning it to one-stop shop for academic excellence”.

Azubuike used the opportunity to invite alumnus both home and those in diaspora to attend the Home Coming that promises to be memorable.
