NYCN Commends Ihedioha for Organizing Retreat for Govt Functionaries

Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Imo State chapter, Comrade Chukwuemeka Isidor Chidozie, has commended His Excellency, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, for organizing three days Retreat on Capacity Building for government functionaries.

The three days Retreat was held at Oguta Lake Resort with many government functionaries attending.

Chukwuemeka, during a chat with newsmen in Owerri, on Saturday, said the retreat will enhance leadership capacity of the government appointees to help the governor deliver on his vision and mandate in order to rebuild the State to enviable heights while improving security.

Chukwuemeka who added that "the Retreat looked at regulatory reforms, improvement of the business environment, identifying needs of the people, security in Imo communities, public procurement policies, sanitation, code of conduct for public officers, roles and responsibilities of government functionaries, human capital development; using education as gateway especially the application of technical, vocational education training to engage youths and provide skills", believed that due process in governance will strengthen good leadership to imbue people especially youths with skills to make them employable and self reliant.

While reassuring the governor of the continued support of the council, Chukwuemeka encouraged the government functionaries to always discharge their functions effectively to assist the governor in his efforts to rebuild Imo to the betterment of the people.
