NUJ Frowns at Insecurity in South East, Calls on Governors to Expedite Action
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Zone C (South East) led by the Vice President of the Zone, Comrade Ezenwa Adiuku, has frowned at the spate of insecurity in the zone, expressing worry over the devastating social and economic effects it has on the people in recent times.
The Zonal leadership stated this at a Zonal Executive Council (ZEC) meeting held recently in Awka, Anambra State, where delegates exposed the effects of insecurity across board, calling on South East Governors to expedite action in collaboration with security agencies to curb the ugly incidents of killing and destruction of properties.
According to a communique issued after the meeting, NUJ South East appealed to philanthropists and business owners from the zone and beyond to invest more in the region for rapid development of the region.
The South East leadership team commended the federal government for the ongoing construction and reconstruction works in parts of the South East zone and called for its sustainability and timely completion.
