Mama Cecilia Chiawuotu Emereuwaonu Laid To Rest

Christians are charged to lead lives worthy of emulation so as to give good accounts of their sojourn on earth to the Lord Almighty on the judgement day.
The charge was given by Resident Minister of Ben Simeon Synagogue Owerri/Southern Regional Cordinator of the Community of Hashem Worldwide (CHW), Apostle Izunna Okolie at the funeral service of Late Chief(Mrs) Cecilia Chiawuotu Ekenwaeke Emereuwaonu on Wednesday 30th March, 2022 at her husband’s residence.
Anchoring his Sermon on Revelations 20:12 and Daniel 10:7 at the funeral, Apostle Izunna Okolie emphasized that everyone on earth both the great and little ones will die one day and assemble before God for judgment hence he urged the people to be mindful of their deeds on earth as God who is Omniscience is monitoring all their movements, actions and inactions while alive.

Apostle Okolie who decried the evil happenings in the land and world at large, charged all, especially Christians to live for God and be good to all at all times because none knows what happens the next minute as “it is only God that determines the events of time and as such we have to key into the plans of the Almighty, and we need to follow that which the Almighty commanded”
Bearing witness of late Mama Cecilia Emereuwaonu, Apostle Izunna Okolie said the deceased lived a worthy Christian life despite knowing the faith late at an advanced age but surmounted all the challenges on her way, noting that “Late Chief (Mrs) Cecilia Chiawuotu Emereuwaonu saw, conquered all the challenges of her Christian life and transited onto Glory”
“Mama kept the Sabbath day and the feasts and appointment times of God and the church”.
He urged all to emulate the examplary life of the deceased while praying God to grant her soul eternal rest as well as solace to the family.
The First and only son of the deceased, Mr Benneth Emereuwaonu(Jnr) who described his mother as a peaceful, loving and gentle woman who taught him humility, outspokenness and truthfulness at all time, stressed that he and the entire family will miss all the examplary qualities of his late mother.

He said “I will miss her in so many ways; her laughs, her guidance, and lovely errands and company”
Speaking also, the second child/daughter of late Cecilia Emereuwaonu; Chief(Mrs) Rtn.Ebere Vivien Chinyere Orji who is the President Elect of Rotary Club of Owerri Cosmopolitan and Imo Zone Secretary respectively said her mother was a truthful, generous and outspoken woman who was popularly known as a woman of the people due to her philanthropic gestures hence she was fondly called “Igolo Nwanyi”

“My mum as she was fondly called ‘Igolo’ was a woman loved by so many; she was a woman that will tell you how she feels and will not bear a grudge… she was a woman that taught us not to eat alone but to feed people around us and these we, the children have imbibed. In fact, she was a woman that will be missed by all. I thank God for having her as my Mother as I couldn’t have asked for more”, Mrs Orji noted.
She thanked all the people who graced the occasion and prayed God for His journey mercies back to their destinations noting that the show of love was much and will not be taken for granted.
Testifying about the personality of the deceased, Pastor Godwin Onuoha of the Community of Hashem Worldwide, CHW, pointed out that late Mrs Cecilia Chiawuotu Emereuwaonu’s life is worthy of emulation adding that God will be happy to welcome her home for a life well spent.
Pastor Godwin said God has reasons for calling her home at this point in time to also save her from increasing distractions of the world to her commitment in Him.
Also bearing witness for Mama Cecilia, one of the devout Mothers of Ben Simeon Synagogue Owerri/the Community of Hashem Worldwide, Mother Florence Otito Iwunze described late Mama Cecilia Emereuwaonu as a notable and devoted Christian woman who always longed for the things of God and paid no attention to obstacles and distractions to appear in God’s presence.

Mother Iwunze stressed that Mama Cecilia Chiawuotu Emereuwaonu was ever supportive and truthful in all her relations with people and prayed God to grant her eternal rest in His bosom.
Also speaking, the husband of the second daughter of the deceased, Barrister Emmanuel Orji who was represented by his brother, Comrade Santus Orji described Mama Cecilia Emereuwaonu as a symbol and carrier of success and goodwill as well as love for all with the codename “Operation You Must Be Well”
Barrister Orji said his late mother-in-law increased their faith in God because of her commitments and believe in God while praying God to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Another witness bearer, Evangelist(Mrs) Chinyere Amadi who spoke on behalf of the kindred as how late Mrs Cecilia Chiawuotu Emereuwaonu lived among them, stressed that Mama Cecilia was lover of God and people around her.

“She loves God so much and if you love God, she will like to have a relationship with you. As a mother; there is no woman, there is no woman that can love like her And she loves every other person…and equally”
Summarizing the testimonies of how Mama Cecilia Emereuwaonu spent her days on earth, Mr Ohajunwa Okadigbo said the deceased “was a great person, a humble teacher, and a great philanthropist who takes pride in sharing from the little she has and believes in uprightness”

Gracing the occasion were notable dignitaries from all walks of life, members of Ben Simeon Synagogue Owerri and Community of Hashem Worldwide, inlaws, friends and well wishers including Managing Editor of StarPost Express Newspaper/State Women Leader Young Progressives Party-YPP Ambassador Chika Uju, Former House Member representing Owerri Municipal -Lugard Osuji, HRH Eze(Dr) Douglas Okwara, HRH Eze Columbus Ihejirika among others.

Mama Cecilia Chiawuotu Ekenwaeke Emereuwaonu (nee Ejimogu) is survived by 4 children, 8 grandchildren,inlaws and hosts of family members.
Till her death,mama was a great member of Ben Simeon Synagogue Disciples Group.
