Empowerment: Over 100 Orlu Youths To Be Trained On Skills, Barr OND Affirms

Interim Management Committee Member representing Ohafo/Okporo/Umutanze Ward, Orlu LGA Council, Imo State, Barr Nnamdi Okafor, says arrangements have been perfected by the Council to train over 100 youths on ICT, Video Editing, Graphic Designing and other related internet skills.
He said this feat is targeted at curbing decadence, crime and insecurity caused by idleness among Orlu young minds, adding that students, working class and the unemployed youths are targeted for the skill acquisition training which will take place soon.
Barr Okafor disclosed this cheering tidings while having an audience with our reporter, during the celebration of 100days in Office of Orlu Council Interim Management Committee led by Mrs Nneoma Ifeoma Ndukwu, held at the Council Headquarters, Umuna, Weekend.
Okafor stressed that the youths would be empowered with Laptop Computers, Smart Mobile Phones and other necessary materials to enable them start off their trade to make good ends meet.
“They are going to be empowered with necessary materials as Laptop Computers, Smart Mobile Phones depending on their area of skill. Positive thing about the internet is, if u learn designing you actually can work from any place – you do not need a shop – all you need is a working Smart Phone and a complete Internet Data.
“Good a thing, we have ICT Center here and we are going to get the necessary materials to help them make good money online”.
He advised the would- be beneficiaries of the skill acquisition to utilize the training and opportunity to be financially independent while keeping faith in God.
“The IMC Chairman is a special breed and a rare blessing to Orlu. She treats all persons good. I pray that she continues to succeed in her good works to help advance good living and development at Orlu.
He reaffirmed his commitment for continued effective representation of his people who he described as wonderful humans.
